This year’s lineup of Christmas releases showcases the richness, diversity, and creativity of the Christian music scene. From powerhouse vocalists like Natalie Grant and storytelling talents like Matthew West, to new voices such as JAZLYN and Natalie Layne, each project offers something special for the season. Whether you seek reflective worship, classic carols with a twist, or even lively sing-alongs, there’s truly something for every Christmas mood. With standout collaborations, heartfelt originals, and innovative reinterpretations, 2025 promises to be one of the most exciting years for new holiday music—and your Christmas playlist will benefit from it.
Natalie Grant – Christmas
Christian music veteran Natalie Grant’s voice is stunning and timeless, both in traditional Christmas songs and her original holiday music. Having grown up listening to Christian music, Grant’s voice is one I’ve been familiar with for most of my life. My favorite song on this album is her rendition of “Silent Night” featuring lead vocalist Bart Millard from MercyMe. Their voices together on one of the most beautiful Christmas songs in history are impressive.
Matthew West – Come Home for Christmas
Contemporary artist Matthew West presents a well-rounded mix of songs, making this a cohesive album. Fun songs include “Dysfunctional Family Christmas” and “Gobble Gobble – Kids Version.” We also hear his takes on traditional songs like “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and “Joy to the World.” A standout is West’s original “Because of Bethlehem.” The lyrics beautifully depict the gift God gave us in Bethlehem.
Katy Nichole – The Hope of Christmas EP
Not only did up-and-comer pop artist Katy Nichole release her second full-length album earlier this year, but we also received the gift of The Hope of Christmas EP. With five songs, it offers the perfect mix of covers and originals. My favorite is “Our King Has Come,” featuring contemporary artist Matt Maher. Their voices together on this original are stunning, and the song has beautiful lyrics.
Rend Collective – Christmas in Belfast
With their distinctive Irish/folk flair, Rend Collective’s Christmas album is a standout. I’m already playing it on repeat this season. Even with covers like “Mary Did You Know” and “Feliz Navidad,” the twists on these songs make it feel as if you’re hearing them for the first time. The original track “Room at the Inn” features emerging artist Chris Renzema, who is also releasing a full-length Christmas album this year. One of my favorites on this album is “A Christmas Hymn,” sung to the tune of my favorite hymn, “Come Thou Fount.” This is definitely one of those Christmas albums I won’t be skipping any songs from.
Aware Worship – Aware Christmas EP
Here’s a tune that'll make you want to get up and dance. Aware Worship is one of the newer worship groups in Christian music, with their debut album So Glad You’re Here released earlier this year. The song “So Good (Forever)” isn’t explicitly a Christmas song, but it’s one of my favorites and something you’ll want to listen to all year round.
Natalie Layne – Christmas EP
Natalie Layne is another artist who not only released a new album in 2025 but also put out new Christmas music. This is Layne’s first Christmas release and features two covers with her own spin, as well as the beautiful original “Glory.”
Tommee Profitt – The Birth Of A King: The Instrumentals
If you haven’t already listened to pop artist Tommee Profitt’s 2020 album The Birth Of A King, do yourself a favor and drop everything to hear it now. I remember being completely blown away the first time I listened to this album, as it offers a musical interpretation of songs I’ve known all my life. In 2023, Profitt released the live concert version of the album, and this year, he released the instrumental version. For those moments when you need instrumental Christmas music in the background, this album is the perfect choice.
Brandon Heath – Long Expected
With more original songs than covers, Long Expected from Brandon Heath adds lyrical variety to your Christmas playlist. The album features fun tracks, such as “Holiday In” with artist Rachel Purcell, as well as more worship-oriented songs, including the title track, “Long Expected,” featuring contemporary artist Francesca Battistelli, and “God Made A Way” with worship artist Tasha Layton. Released in October, it was one of the first Christmas albums I listened to this season, and I was immediately hooked.
JAZLYN – This Christmas With You EP
One of the newest Christian artists and a member of the NRT Music roster, This Christmas With You is JAZLYN’s first Christmas release. She began releasing music in 2022 and has released multiple singles since then, including two this year, “Wings” and “It’s Your World.” Snippets of her EP have been shared on her social media, and I can already tell that it’s going to be great.
