Sam Llanes is a passionate Christian hip-hop artist dedicated to spreading the message of faith, redemption, and hope through powerful lyrics and compelling beats. Hailing from a background rich in musical and spiritual influences, Sam's journey has been one of transformation and commitment to his calling. Sam is taking us song-by-song through his recent singles, sharing the heart behind each of them

"Down to Business"

Sam: Let's get down to business, kingdom business.

Inspired by the need to stop talking and get down to business, this track is bold, punchy, and unapologetic. It contrasts worldly fame with kingdom purpose, calling out the urgency of the mission. The hook is a call-and-response, making it a fan favorite live. It dropped on August 8 and immediately found traction, because it's more than hype, it's a rally cry for believers to wake up and get to work.

"Jesus El Rey"

Sam: Jesus is the King, not just mine, but King of all.

This is a Latin-flavored anthem declaring Jesus as Lord. Mixing reggaeton drums with worship lyrics, the song bridges my Cuban heritage and my faith. The Spanish hook -- "Jesús el Rey" -- makes it stick in your head, but the deeper goal is clear: making sure people know that He reigns, regardless of language or culture.

"Music the Spark"

Sam: Music was the spark that lit my faith on fire.

This track is testimony in rhythm. Growing up, music kept me from drifting too far, it was always the bridge God used to pull me back. I wanted to write a track about that moment where sound collides with Spirit. It's hip hop storytelling over a driving beat, showing that one spark of inspiration can change your whole life.

"Hallelujah"

Sam: Dance floors are for praise too.

Produced by Marty from Social Club Misfits, this one leans EDM and hip hop. It was built for both the church and the festival stage. The lyrics are a simple cry of praise "Hallelujah!"  but the beat makes you want to move. When this one dropped, it connected fast with young listeners, proving that worship music can be both reverent and fun.

"Hands Up High"

Sam: I put my hands up high, giving glory to the sky.

This was the featured single from my self-produced EP. I wanted something pure praise, but still urban. The track starts minimal and builds into a high-energy declaration. It's for youth group nights, car rides, or gym playlists, anywhere you need to get your joy back. It reminds me that worship doesn't have to be solemn. Sometimes worship is dancing, jumping, and raising your hands up high.

"No Sand"

Sam: Devil thought he built a castle, but it's standing on sand.

This Brazilian Phonk anthem rides heavy bass and funk energy, then switches into trap after the second hook. The idea came from Matthew 7, Jesus talking about foundations. When storms hit, only the house on the rock stands. Spiritually, I wanted a bold anthem saying "my faith won't crumble." Dropping Portuguese in the hook made it global, but the message is timeless: Christ is the rock, and everything else is sinking sand.

"Higher"

Sam: Only way I'm going is up.

This track came straight out of Psalm 121 "I lift up my eyes to the mountains where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord." It's that reminder that no matter what's pulling you down, God is always pulling you higher.

Musically, "Higher" brings together Miami culture and kingdom purpose. You'll hear the "dale" callouts, the swagger of South Florida hip hop, and a beat that drives with urgency. But under it all is a declaration: when God is your source, the direction of your life is always up.

This one's already become a live favorite, because it's more than just a track it's an anthem of hope. Whether you're in the gym, in the car, or in a tough season, "Higher" points your focus where it belongs: up to the King.
