Emerging from Springfield, Missouri, the emerging rock band Eauclaire has quietly crafted a rich musical journey over the past decade. With two full-length albums, multiple singles, and an acoustic session album, the band recently signed with NRT Music—marking a new chapter in their story. Known for blending indie, alternative, and pop-rock influences with heartfelt honesty, Eauclaire continues to make music that reflects their lives, families, and faith. I had the chance to sit down with the band to discuss their beginnings, creative process, and what’s next.

You’ve been around longer than I realized—you already have two albums, a lot of singles, and even an acoustic session album. How did you get started, and what’s the journey been like so far?

We’re longtime friends, originally from Springfield, Missouri. We started this band around 2011 while in college, playing more band-oriented stuff back then. Thankfully, those early recordings never got released. After a short hiatus, we worked on our first album, Ocean Blue, around 2017 and released it in 2019. From there, our sound has continued to evolve, which brings us to today.

Your music is very diverse—indie, alternative, pop rock vibes. What helped you find your sound?

Our first two records were more concept-driven—ambient and cinematic. The second record, Timber, was more organic with acoustic instruments. But at heart, we’re band guys—we grew up on indie rock, hardcore, and early rock influences. Recently, we wanted to lean into those roots and focus on band-centered music. Trends change, but bands never go away. That’s where we’re living right now.

You’ve also released two recent singles. My personal favorite, “Help Me Out,” blew me away. Tell us about that song.

Help Me Out” is an old song from our college days, written around 2010. We used to play it live, but never released it. Years later, we revisited it while shifting back toward a band sound. We reworked the lyrics, updated the writing, and recorded it two years ago. It felt like the right time to revive it—it’s energetic, fun to play, and part of our origin story.

You also put a lot into social media and behind-the-scenes content. Why is that important?

We want fans to see the heart behind what we do—writing, recording, and being authentic. Social media takes time (we’re all dads now!), but we try to share the process. A song like “Help Me Out” works today because rock feels fresh again. Our bigger goal is to create music we love, sustainably, while leading our families well. Touring endlessly isn’t realistic anymore, but releasing authentic music is.

You’ve also released another big song, “You, Me, and the Kids.” Tell us about that one.

That song started with a simple hook: “You, me, the kids.” It grew into a reflection of what matters most—our families. The idea is that as long as we’re together, we’re okay. It’s a fun summer song about family being home, wherever we are. For us, authenticity is key—our music reflects the seasons we’re in. “You, Me, and the Kids” celebrates family, which is the best thing in our lives right now.

You recently signed to NRT Music through a partnership with NCS Records—welcome aboard. Tell us about that partnership.

I’ve known Kevin McNeese, founder of NewReleaseToday and NRT Music, for about 12 years, back when I worked in Christian radio. He’s always been a supporter of our music. To come full circle and partner with him now is incredible. NRT has given us a platform, and Kevin has championed us from the beginning.

It’s such an exciting time in Christian music—new voices, new sounds, and records being broken. What can fans look forward to next from Eauclaire?

We have another single coming out this year. Right now, we’re focused on writing and recording more music and moving faster than we ever have before. Lots more to come.

Final question—how can we be praying for you?

Honestly, just for our families. We’re all raising little kids, balancing work and music, and it can be exhausting. Pray for energy, sanity—and maybe coffee.

Closing Thoughts

Eauclaire’s blend of authenticity, heart, and rock energy proves that timeless music doesn’t have to fade with trends. With their partnership with NRT Music and a steady stream of new singles ahead, they’re poised to keep creating music that resonates with honesty and faith.
