Jenn Chenoweth is a rising singer/songwriter and worship leader from South Florida. Her passion for the Lord led to her debut EP, Out to Get Me. In honor of her recent release, Chenoweth is taking us song-by-song through the new EP, sharing what the new record means to her in her own words.

"Remembering"

"I'm remembering... the times I thought that you were out to get me, you were reaching out to bring me in."

A song about looking back with new perspective. What once felt ordinary or confusing can suddenly reveal God's hand at work. Even when we forget, God's Spirit helps us remember what He's done. "Remembering" opens the album with a posture of gratitude and sets the foundation for everything that follows. I pray this song makes listeners nostalgic as they look back, whether they've known God their whole life or have only recently come to know him. We can see God's hand at work, no matter how far we have come from.

"Truth Comes Running"

"You're not out to get me, but to set me free."

The core message of the album. Inspired by Galatians 5:7-8, the song wrestles with how easily we can be thrown off course by lies about who God is. The truth that cuts through is this: God isn't out to get us; He's the One who sets us free. When we're misled, His truth doesn't just wait for us to find it - it runs to meet us. He left the 99 for the one. For those who have been misled, I pray they find peace in the truth of God's Word and all that he is.

"I'm Learning"

"I will rest when I don't know the rest."

An honest prayer from a restless heart. Life moves quickly, and we often feel the tension of not knowing what's next or why God's timing feels the way it does. "I'm Learning" gives voice to those questions while choosing to trust anyway. The heart of the song is surrender -- resting in God even when nothing feels certain. For those stuck in the messy middle, waiting or confused, I pray this song makes them feel less alone and reminds them that the seasons change and they can wait, trusting the Lord because He has a perfect track record.

"Light as a Feather (Good Shepherd)"

"Is it your voice or is it mine? Would you please just give me a sign? I want my independence, but my life is in your hands."

A joyful, synth-driven track rooted in Psalm 23. The lyrics reflect on what it means to hear and follow the Shepherd's voice, and the freedom that comes with letting Him lead. The music captures the lightness of trusting God with what only He can carry. It's about discovering joy, not in having all the answers, but in knowing the One who does. That's what makes us light as a feather. I pray that those who didn't look closely at Psalm 23 before will look closer now, surrender, and run to their Shepherd.

"Closest Friend" feat. Clarence Monestime

"You're my closest friend. I long to sit and talk with you. When I reach my end, you still give me a chance again, and again."

A song about knowing God not only as Lord, but as Friend. It carries the ache of realizing you've drifted and the relief of finding closeness with Him again. With guest vocals adding depth, warmth, and perspective, "Closest Friend" feels like a personal conversation with God - honest, tender, and rooted in love. I pray that those who hear this song will come to know or be reminded that God is their closest friend and confidant. Even more so, I hope they come to know him for all that He is in their lives.

"You Won't Leave" feat. Raphael Martins

"When I'm afraid, you always walk with me. Help me believe, you're hope when I am barely hanging on and peace when all my peace is gone."

This song is about God never abandoning us and us wanting to be more like Him. We often come to him with limited trust and a shaky faith, but he remains steady. God's grip on us is stronger than our grip on him. We may waver, but he does not. For those barely hanging on or struggling through anxiety, depression, or mental health issues, I pray this song ministers deeply to their hearts.

"Truth Comes Running (Acoustic)"

"When I run from the heart of who you are, your truth comes running. When I wrestle with accepting all you are, your truth comes running, running."

This acoustic version of "Truth Comes Running" brings a more intimate experience of the song. I pray it is a source of comfort and peace to the listener. As we wrestle, God's truth is graciously following us.
