One of Christian music's best pop acts, Stars Go Dim serves as the moniker for singer/songwriter Chris Cleveland. Formed initially as a mainstream pop band in 2007, Chris rebranded himself as a pop artist in 2015. He has since released several albums, including his latest project, Roses.Join us as we look back at some signature songs you should know from Stars Go Dim.
"You Are Loved"
The band's first and biggest hit to date, "You Are Loved," is an encouraging pop anthem about knowing how much God loves us. It fits right into the 2015 pop landscape and still stands as a solid song that continues to resonate with believers and non-believers alike. No matter how broken or lost we may feel, we can rest knowing that God's love for us never changes. He made us perfectly and wonderfully as He intended us to be, and truly loves us just as we are.
"Heaven On Earth"
"Heaven On Earth" is one of my personal favorites from Stars Go Dim. The song is a call to look more like Jesus and to be changed like Him. It's a prayer, still with that signature Stars Go Dim pop sound, making it a fun, upbeat song. I love how this song conveys a genuine desire to live life to the fullest and make Jesus our top priority. It's a song that I have listened to countless times and find myself dancing and praying along with.
"Satisfied"
This song caught me by surprise when I first heard it in the best way. "Satisfied" is a catchy song of thankfulness and faith in who God is and the victories He's won. I love how this song sounds, with its pop beat, and I'm still surprised that it didn't become a bigger radio hit. As the song sings confidently, God truly is the only one who can satisfy and break through, regardless of the situations we face.
"Roses"
The title track of Stars Go Dim's latest excellent album, Roses, is a standout. Taking a break from the pop sound, "Roses" is a beautiful piano ballad that celebrates the goodness and promise of God all around us. Although the pop songs show Chris's vocals well, there's something about this heartfelt, slowed-down song that highlights them. The song is an excellent reminder to listeners that, no matter how hard things get, God is always at work in the details, and we can trust Him with them.
"It's Gonna Get Better"
Another pop song that aligns well with its release year, "It's Gonna Get Better" serves as an anthem of hope, reminding us that God's holding our lives and that the light at the end of the tunnel is approaching. It's a song that quickly resonated with listeners (along with the honorable mention, "You Know Me Better") and continues to make an impact with almost 10 million streams on Spotify alone. I love the message of hope that Stars Go Dim always shares, especially in this fun song of hope.
"Alive In You"
This one may be a little less well-known, but ever since I first heard it on their debut album, "Alive In You" remains my favorite song from Stars Go Dim and a fan favorite all around. The song is a pop/contemporary anthem of victory and transformation that Jesus brings us. He is the one who never fails us and the one who brings us back to life. It's filled with lyrics of that hope, beautifully, and thankfulness for God's amazing grace given to us. Stars Go Dim is one of those groups that consistently releases good songs, and this one, even from 2015, is no exception.
