Each week, dozens of singles and a handful of projects are released in the Christian Hip-Hop (CHH) and Urban Soul spaces. Below, we have listed a few highlights and included the rest for your review. As always, follow our New Christian Rap and Hip-Hop playlist on Spotify and Apple Music to listen to all the latest.
PEABOD - "Summer in Seattle" Independent (Roommates Records), Seattle-based artist Peabod returns with his third release of 2025. The single is an endearing, energic love song for his soon-to-be-born daughter. Peabod’s adoration for the summer season in his hometown was the main metaphor serving as the theme. His creative undertones voted for a bouncy summertime anthem as opposed to a monotoned lullaby. Essentially, it’s a celebration of loved ones who appreciate everything about their hometown and region.
The single was self-produced as Peabod has truly finetuned his production skill set. This track is one most fans will have on repeat throughout the summer. As a stan of Peabod’s music, this one represents one of my favorites since “Sweet as Coca-Cola.” Stream “Summer in Seattle” on Spotify and Apple Music.
KB and KEANU - "Keanu's Song" Provident Label Group’s (Sony Music) KB enters 2025 midway through with his second offering of new music. “Keanu’s Song” has multiple layers to it. Both of KB’s other children had songs written about them (“Fall in Love with You” and “Masterpiece”). Therefore, Keanu felt left out and wanted his own track. Not only did KB deliver, but he featured his son enabling him to receive future funds towards college. On the spiritual side of things, God often champions those which are often overlooked.
Thinking about the song in general, this may be KB’s finest collection of bars to date. The similes, metaphors, and wordplay overall are phenomenal. Also, anytime an artist creatively pulls off a successful beat switch at the halfway point, I’m sold. This track represents one of my top three favorites over the nearly two decades KB has made music. Stream “Keanu’s Song” on Spotify and Apple Music.
Lecrae feat. Jackie Hill Perry - "Tell No Lie" Reach Records’ artists Lecrae and Jackie Hill Perry kick off a three-single rollout leading into Crae’s 10th studio album, Reconstruction, dropping August 22. Flipping the iconic sample from “Amores Como el Nuestro” (best known from Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie”), Lecrae and JHP confront the empty posturing in both hip-hop culture and spiritual spaces, challenging the lies people tell to gain status, validation, or influence. Stream “Tell No Lie” on Spotify and Apple Music.
