Adie Camp delivers her sophomore album
Just You and Me, following up her incredible debut,
Don't Wait.
This album lives a bit more in the worship category with tracks like "Beautiful Lord," "Soon," "Redemption Song" and "Only You." When asked about the theme of this album, Adie explained, "It is truly learning what it is to seek the Lord with all my heart and sitting at His feet without things being a distraction to me. I want to grow so much more and learn what it is to really worship Him in spirit and truth. He has shown Himself strong for me and truly been my shelter and my hope in the middle of some hard life experiences. I chose songs that resonate with what God has been showing me and they're meaning more and more as I go along."
I got the chance to interview Adie about her first single, “Where Could I Go.” You can listen to our entire interview

Please share the events that led you to record the song “Where Could I Go.”
I didn’t write the song myself but as soon as I heard it, the message just totally resonated with me. One of my favorite Psalms is
Psalm 139 because it means so much to me personally. No matter where we are in our lives--whether trapped in sin, or feeling guilty about past mistakes--there is no place we can escape from God’s presence. So the message of the song is that God’s arm can reach us no matter where we are.
Please tell me about the Bible verses you connect with the message of the song.
Psalm 139:7-12:
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.
How can listeners apply that message in their walks as Christians when they listen to the song and the album?
No matter who you are or what type of life you lead, we are all so busy and we are so distracted in this multimedia society. We are all busy at computers, watching television and talking on phones and texting and as Christians, we lose sight of what it means to just wait for the Lord and sit quietly at His feet. We read in the Bible how people waited on the Lord for days and years. In today’s society, after waiting 30 minutes, we get fed up. When you have one of those deep encounters with God, you can’t walk away unchanged. For me, that’s sitting at the feet of Jesus and letting Him remove the distractions of my to-do list and bring me to a place of quiet and surrender to Jesus. The song, “Only You,” reflects the underlying theme of the album which is about spending time with God, “just You and me.” “Shelter” is also about needing God completely. Halfway through recording the album we had a miscarriage (in the second trimester), and my heart’s desire of wanting to just rely on the Lord was realized during that time of trial.
Here are the lyrics:
Out of Eden's fall
I'm still falling here
At the garden wall
Serpents in my ear
Whispers and lies
Telling me to turn my eyes
But I don't know what else to do
And bring my brokenness to you
Where could I go
But into your presence
Where could I run
But into your arms
All of my roads
Lead to this redemption
Father you know the way nobody knows
So where could I go
Wounded as the ground
We all walk upon
Love held to the cross cried out mercy song
Still we break and bend by the weight of all our sin
There is nothing we can do
But bring our weariness to you
Where could I go
But into your presence
Where could I run
But into your arms
All of my roads
Lead to this redemption
Father you know the way nobody knows
So where could I go
We come just as we are
We come just as we are
We come just as we are
We come just as we are
Where could I go
But into your presence
Where could I run
But into your arms
All of my roads
Lead to this redemption
Father you know the way nobody knows
So where could I go
Where could I go
But into your presence
Where could I run
But into your arms
All of my roads
Lead to this redemption
Father you know the way nobody knows
Father you know the way nobody knows
So where could I go
Where could I go
Where could I go
God blesses us during our trials and uses them to remind us to rely on Him. He wants to deeply know each and every one of us and wants us to sit at His feet and rid ourselves of distractions. For anyone who feels like they are apart from God, take some time to pray the way that David prayed in the Psalms, without any technology or distractions. We can’t flee the presence of God, and when you spend time with just Him, you can’t walk away unchanged.
