DJ Mykael V feat. 350 x Hulvey x A3 - "PETER BAND$"
Recently signed to the indie tribe. collective, DJ Mykael V reminds listeners how lethal his own musical bodies of art represent. Mykael V enters summer with one of the most aggressive and crazy tracks under two minutes in the CHH space. Indie artists 350 and A3 along with Reach Records’ Hulvey come swinging in the form of heavyweight wordplay and ignited bars one after the other. Like myself, Mykael has a talented ear for talent and finds the hottest rappers in the game to team up on his iconic tracks. The video showcases one of the most violent games of monopoly anyone may have witnessed, yet it’s easily noticed a group of friends are clowning around with fun as the end game. This is the type of energy needed; community. The track was produced by Iggy and the video was directed by Ric Valley. The 808’s hit harder than Mike Tyson while the content competes as the likes of a champion. Watch the video below and stream “PETER BAND$” on Spotify here.
Miles Minnick feat. FERN (of Social Club Misfits) - "No Luck"
Bay Area’s Miles Minnick delivers a surefire summer anthem teaming up with Social Club Misfits’ Fern. Fern and Minnick met at a show a few years prior, then God led them to a private Clubhouse room conversation to chop-it-up recently. The rest came together through God’s faithfulness and Fern’s servanthood. The single was produced by George.Rose and the video was directed and edited by KidViz. The basis of the track explains how believers should be counting their blessings as the idea of luck has no say in God’s purpose. The melodies, speedily high hats, and smooth keys layout the foundation for the duo to spit back-and-forth so nonchalantly. Jump in your ride, windows down all the way, and run this track for the rest of the summer. Watch the video below and listen to “No Luck” on Spotify here.
God's Favourite Baby by Limoblaze
Nigerian artist Limoblaze (Samuel Onwubiko) is a man of many talents. He’s an afrobeat, hip-hop gospel artist who’s capable of melodic cadences in his native language or English or lace bars over lively Caribbean-like beats with little effort. The manner which he switches between multiple languages is quite beautiful. God’s Favourite Baby is the 26-year old’s fifth release since 2016.
The diverse album remains in tune with its cultural superiority by the inclusion of featured artists from across the globe. CASS, CalledOut Music, Asha Elia, Marizu, Sam Rivera, Sal Ly, and Ada Ehi accompany Limoblaze as they present one of the most vibrant releases of summer 2021. A wonderful playlist for a road trip or a soundtrack to a lively Friday night, this album fits with an array of audiences. One thing I adore about cultural works of art is the variety of live instruments used. It’s not just a drum machine, guitars, keyboard, and maybe some brass. Instead, we hear sounds of bongos, flutes, and other well-pronounced sonics of beauty. This is feel good music. Music that leaves you smiling. Music for the people in a world of chaos. A welcomed narrative. Stream God’s Favourite Baby on Spotify here.
