Elbow bump us on the way out to warmer weather. Enjoy!
Leading up to their forthcoming album in August 2020, youth worship band Hillsong Young & Free have released one of their best joyous summer anthems! With "Never Have I Ever," Y&F gives us a song that has been on instant repeat. It's fun, catchy, and full of the truth of God's never-failing love. Even in times like these, His love is the only thing that truly breaks through. –Bradden Ford
Elevation Rhythm "Better With You"
In a genre that is vastly huge, and has many artists, Elevation Rhythm's new single "Better With You" stands out as a can't miss single. With a hip-hop beat in the background, this is one song that you should be listening to. The chorus says, "Even when I was broken and hopeless/You walked in and things changed/I realize, you're all that I want." God will always walk beside you and change your life for the best. He will make us feel brand new, and help us with our journey through life. This song instantly grabs my attention because it's an upbeat worship song and makes me want to get up and dance. –Brendan Burke
Fearless BND "Mas Amor"
Fearless BND hits us with "Mas Amor" right when we need it: During a time of great uncertainty due to the Covid-19, racial tensions, and more. However, this bilingual (Spanish and English) ditty encourages us to dance in the love of God and to fear not. I can nod along to the simple "electronica-esque" synth rhythms topped with a midtempo syncopated drum pattern. Yes, there have been many songs about resting in Him and not having fear. During an unprecedented time as this, "Mas Amor" just hits different! –Dwayne Lacy
Retain "Echo (Retain Remix)"
One of the most popular worship anthems from the last year has been given a summer facelift. Suitable for Sunday morning worship services and Saturday night praise parties, Retain has put a fresh coat of paint on the Elevation Worship/Tauren Wells track. The remix has a Latin/Afro house music feel with a pulsating bass line and marimba driven melody. Check this one out for your socially distanced party. –Mark Ryan
Hillsong UNITED "Another In The Fire (Billy Davis Remix)"
Hillsong UNITED has been releasing lots of amazing remixes for their song "Another In The Fire," and recently artist/producer Billy Davis did a remix of the song. It's a unique and catchy take on the new classic. Billy really turned an already great worship song into a song that you can dance to, which I love! This version of "Another In The Fire" is sped up from the original and is perfect for summer. In addition to having an upbeat sound, this song also has an amazing message about how God will always be with us. "There is another in the fire/Standing next to me/There is another in the waters/Holding back the seas."–Grace Chaves
Elevation Youth "No Pressure (Chris Howland Remix)"
This 2017 song got a fresh coat of paint for Elevation Youth's latest release. While the original was plenty upbeat, this remix adds a strong EDM beat. This remix also adds a bit of '90s flair for a unique sound. The message of the song stays strong, though, saying there's no pressure for us to be perfect when the price has already been paid. –Jake Frederick
SEU Worship "Higher Than Mine"
SEU Worship offers a track sure to liven congregations this summer. With worshipful lyrics sure to draw the faithful into a mind for worship and a summer beat to get feet tapping, this song balances the reverent and the exciting into a surefire summer crowdpleaser. –JJ Francesco
"Unshakeable" is a great song about determination and standing strong in your faith. I really liked how they added in some truths about trust and awe as well. A simple electronic beat makes the message of believing in God's strength really hit home. A high point of satisfaction for me was the line "And when it's dark/You are ablaze." Although this statement is often taken as a simple cliché, planetboom reminds us that it is so much more than that. This song really pumps you up to praise and reminds us that with God we are "Unshakeable." –Selena Schulz
LYA "You Are My Life"
LYA, the worship team from the young adult ministry of Houston's Lakewood Church is making some solid contributions into the worship space in 2020, packaging their heartfelt message in a sound that's fun and fresh. Their latest single "You Are My Life" is the perfect worship song, meets summer anthem. Tauren Wells, who serves as part of the young adult ministry staff at Lakewood Church in addition to his music career, is featured as the lead vocalist on the song. The song is a joyful prayer of dedication and surrender to God. Larger than life synth sounds make the song feel like nostalgic 80s vibes collide with the best qualities in modern pop music production. In addition to the studio version that's available on music streaming platforms, LYA has also released a YouTube video for an acoustic version of "You Are My Life." Both versions are well worth being added to your playlist this summer. –Jasmin Patterson
