Integrity Music announces the much-anticipated global release of
Deeper, the first English language album from beloved Latin-American worship leader
Christine D'Clario, along with the simultaneous release of its Spanish language counterpart,
Mas Profundo.
Loved by millions of Spanish-speaking worshipers around the world, D'Clario is perhaps best known for her Premios Arpa and Dove Award-nominated album De Vuelta Al Jardin (Back To The Garden). The music videos from this project have garnered an amazing 10 million views on YouTube, including more than three million views for her performance of the song "El Nos Ama" (How He Loves).
Produced by Paul Mabury (All Sons & Daughters/Hillsong) and featuring songs written specifically with the global Church in mind, D'Clario's passion for her faith is evident from the first note on Deeper. Whether it's a joyful standout track like "Reign," that expresses her desire to see God's Kingdom on Earth, to the soulful strains of "Faithfulness" or "Magnified," a timely anthem for the redeemed, Deeper is filled with relevant reminders of the joys of being in God's presence.
Adding fullness and texture to Deeper is a vibrant musical palette that pulls from a variety of influences, everything from organic instrumentation to dance beats. But perhaps, the best instrument of all is D'Clario's expressive voice. In addition to having a wide vocal range, her raw passion bleeds out whenever she worships. And it is that passion that draws listeners in as she shares new songs written with Leslie Jordan (All Sons & Daughters), Anthony Skinner and Daniel Bashta. D'Clario also delivers her own take on favorites such as "Your Presence Is Heaven" (Israel and New Breed), "Pursuit" (Bashta) and "Magnified" (Desperation Band).
Deeper and Mas Profundo will be available in Christian book and music stores and through all major digital service providers, including Amazon and iTunes, beginning Feb. 19. Her single "Magnified," is available now. I had the chance to interview Christine about that song.
Please share the background message behind the song "Magnified."
It's a funny story. I was in the middle of recording the songs for this album when we decided to add this song to the recording. It's awesome how God works--how things that may seem to be last-minute and weren't part of the initial plan will turn out to be a blessing from God and a far greater key to the blessing of your life in that particular season. That's what "Magnified" is for me. We had a song list, but we felt a tug in our hearts that something was missing. We had the elements and themes for the album, and clearly God was aligning our hearts to add the message of this song. When I first heard the song, there was a weight of glory that fell on me, and it felt so right in my spirit. I said, "Yes, that is the anthem of my heart." The message of the song sums up the cry of the redeemed.
What does the message of the song mean to you personally?
It's an inexplicable thing to try to describe the love of God. His mercy and His grace and His passion for us is reflected through the Passion of Jesus Christ. This song is one of those songs that puts into words that we as children of God cleansed by the blood of Jesus can commonly feel and express. It's like when you have that feeling in your heart and you hear a song that expresses those feelings perfectly. We often talk about the love of God, but sometimes our lifestyles are the biggest denials of Him. There was a time when my behavior hurt God more than it glorified Him. Had it not been for redemption and deepening my relationship with God, who knows where I would be?
Please tell me about any Bible verses that connects to the song.
Psalm 34:3-6: "Come, let us tell of the Lord's greatness; let us exalt His name together. I prayed to the Lord, and He answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; He saved me from all my troubles."
...Psalm 33:8: "Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him."
…and Ecclesiastes 3:10-12: "I have seen the burden God has laid on men. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live."
How can listeners apply that message in their walks as Christians when they listen to the song and your album?
In my walk with God, I've learned to always be thankful, yet never satisfied. There is always more of Him to encounter. Upon finally understanding this, after many bouts with myself, I decided to plunge into deeper, unchartered waters in my faith. And it is in the beautiful uncertainty of blindly chasing after His presence that Deeper was birthed. I truly hope that all who lend an ear to what's on this piece of my heart may seek and find new depths in God, and let go of the fear of what remains to be encountered on this journey. My greatest desire with Deeper is that the Church, collectively and individually, can come to know sides of God's love and personality that they never have before. I long to see it inspire them to plunge into the depths of God's love in such a way that nothing else matters more. Furthermore, I hope that it sparks in those who haven't met Jesus, the desire to open up to His love and be transformed.
Lyrics:
We stand in awe
Of Your unfailing love
That has covered us
We stand amazed
Of Your unending grace
We cannot repay
Jesus wonder of the world
How we love You
Savior Son of God
Be magnified, magnified
Our hearts bowed low
In Your presence Lord
We are overcome
Our hands held high
To declare Your worth
Your magnificence
The heavens can't contain Your great Love, Your great Love
All the earth will rise to say You're the One, You're the One
Every heart and every soul will declare, will declare
Jesus magnified
This entire album has songs that bless and heal me as a listener. Deeper is one of my top inspirational worship albums of the year. This is also one of the most moving albums I've heard this year. I can't get enough of the standout worshipful songs: "Pursuit," "Father of Mine," "Your Presence Is Heaven" and the powerful lead single "Magnified." Do yourself a favor and buy this album immediately. You'll be refreshed, nourished, encouraged and turn to God for your strength.
God's not afraid of our questions. He wants us to pour out our hearts and be desperate to know His presence. When you've been in God's presence, it melts you. Even in those seasons of silence, God is still working and wants us to pursue Him. This song is a great way to pray along with Christine and to remember that God will never leave or forsake you. Jeremiah 29:13 says, "You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart."
We all need to remember that earth isn't our permanent home, and our freedom from the restlessness of this world will come when we enter the true rest that can only come from living eternally with Jesus Christ. As we begin this Lenten season, this song has become a personal worship anthem for me to sing daily and remember that this life is "meaningless." As St. Augustine put it so perfectly, "our hearts are restless until they rest in You." For me, songs like "Magnified" provide opportunities for God to whisper to me my TRUE identity--not found in what I do or don't do, but in who I am--more importantly to Whom I belong.
This song provides me comfort as I sing at the top of my lungs: "Every breath we sing is Yours / Every heart and every soul will declare Jesus magnified." This song reminds all of us that the pain of this world is temporary and to live for Heaven. Christine's mission is all about singing songs that reflect what it means to have freedom in Christ. This song really sets me in the proper mindset to praise God for His amazing gift of salvation and for loving me so much that He gave His life away for all that was lost. That's what this Easter season is all about. Amen.
