Family Force 5's Business Up Front, Party In The Back captures every bit of energy this quintet has radiated since their shows began dropping jaws of newfound fans last year. Few acts seen in recent years have matched the hype surrounding this band's live performance and few have had such energetic and fun shows since the likes of the O.C. Supertones, Reality Check, or dc Talk.
Powering stereos with a dozen tracks, Business Up Front, Party In The Back never quits from start to finish. Mixing fuzzy guitars, groove-laced rhythms, rap breakdowns, synth effects and often silly lyrics into nearly each song, Family Force 5 is a party band plain and simple. Much of the band's songs put fun first, as displayed in such tracks as "Cadillac Phunque," "Kountry Gentlemen," "X-Girlfriend," "Numb," and "Put Ur Hands Up," poking fun at pop culture and relationships wrapped up into club-friendly packages. Only tracks like the deliciously over-the-top "Love Addict" and the aggressive "Replace Me" really show hints of spiritual content. "Addict" talks about a hopeless addiction to spiritual love and truth while "Replace Me" is a blatant, desperate cry for God's intervention in our lives. "Peachy" tackles a discussion of faith between a believer and a non-Christian within the confines of a bubbly pop anthem. The spirituality of the record ends there, but what remains is one unashamedly lighthearted and fun assortment of songs.
Familiarity runs amuck on Business Up Front, Party In The Back, drawing comparisons to a tripped-out Rage Against The Machine on the raucous "Kountry Gentlemen," and even borrowing a little effect from Usher on the delightfully silly "Supersonic." This never feels too problematic, however, as the band keeps their sound varied per song and interesting throughout. And since Family Force 5 clearly doesn't take themselves too seriously, the silly never feels unbearably cheesy, urging the listener to let loose and join in on the fun.
When all is said and done, Business Up Front, Party In The Back is a ferociously catchy and infectious crunk rock release from the ATL's most promising new act. Although it may be all party with very little business, Family Force 5 is good clean fun that I can recommend to anyone who doesn't mind getting in touch with their inner 'kountry gentleman.'

I like it, I like it a lot. This is such a great album. I have to say though I didn't think I would like it by the look of the cover, see I don't fall into the punk group and I'd say that's what they look like on the cover, but I still liked it, so even if the cover throws you, check it out. Probably my favorite songs would be #1 Replace Me #2 Kountry Gentleman #3 Cadillac Phunque #4 Love Addict, and the rest were good too.

I don't really like any of their songs, due to the fact that the lyrics don't have anything to do with God...except for maybe "Replace Me." I don't honestly see how they're "Christian."

Something Absolutely NEW| Posted December 15, 2007
Gosh, i love this band. It has spunk, uniquness, and just great music. Songs all have catchy tunes, music you can dance and rock on. The Olds brothers' voices bring in the spunk. Man, it puts edge into every song. The music (instrumentally) has a beat that sticks on. Good songs like Love Addict, Replace Me, and Earthquake are ones to love. The bad part of the album is just that the lyrics are...well not the best. I mean the melody is good but the lyrics arent the same. But overall great album and artist.

WOW! What can I say about these guys? They are unlike anything I had ever heard, but for some reason, I really like them! I highly recommend "Luv Addict", "Earthquake", and "Supersonic". Those are my absolute faves! These guys are so fun and have so much energy that it just makes you want to get up and move! I am going to see them in concert soon, and I am so excited to see what kind of show they put on live-I have heard they are AWESOME in concert!

I just bought this CD off of iTunes last week and it has not left my cd players and iPod since. Every song is extremly catchy and the whole album is non stop, in your face CRUNK. Definitly worth every penny
a CD to rock out to| Posted August 30, 2007
Family Force 5's music is really different than any other music that I have heard. Their first CD is really good. It has hard rock sound to most of their songs but at the same time their music does have a soft sound to it through the vocals. There is some screaming but it's keep to a minimal and thats how I like it (sorry not a big fan of screamo). The lyrics vary from song to song from really funny to sincere and at times meaningful. The other CD they have out is basically this CD plus a couple of other songs so if you don't have this CD yet, you should get the Diamond Edition. So if you want to have a good time listening to music you should get it!!!
