Revelation [edit]
by Third Day | Genre: Pop/Rock | Release Date: July 29, 2008

With the release of its 11th studio album Revelation, Third Day’s Mac Powell, Tai Anderson, Mark Lee and David Carr have hit new heights as Christian music’s premiere rock band.

Recorded in Los Angeles, the first time Third Day has worked on a project outside of the South, Third Day’s signature rock sounds gets an infusion of new energy thanks to the band’s new collaboration with producer by Howard Benson (Daughtry, Flyleaf, Hoobastank, P.O.D.).

With his heart on his sleeve, frontman and principal lyricist Mac Powell gives voice to the emotions all believers feel as they attempt to reconcile everyday struggles with the hope born of salvation. Songs like “Run to You,” “Born Again,” “Who I Am,” and the first single, “Call My Name” are like musical stepping stones on the band’s creative journey. The result is a new chapter in Third Day’s story; it is truly a musical revelation.

Third Day - Revelation | Posted July 23, 2008
The best Third Day yet! I started listening to these guys around the time These Thousand Hills was hitting Christian radio and I haven't stopped since! I reluctantly started listening to Christian music at my wife's request and now they are my favorite band! Thank you Third Day for another inspirational album that I will definately be buying as soon as it comes out. Your music will continue to inspire generations to come and become a timeless classic!

Talk about a Christian Crossover! Third Day has been well in the news for their newest album, revelation, for its surprising difference from other albums. I must say, it's all for good reason. The cd is similar to "Wire" but adds much more southern content and has a little bit more of a rock element. Not to mention, having it produced by the same guy who did Daughtry and POD, along with the guest vocals from Lacey in the smash hit hard rock band Flyleaf make so much of a new sound. This is also a milestone album for them. It is their 11th studio album after the 10 year celebration last year with the Chronology Duo. With that said, Revelation truly is the beginning of a new decade in their music career. Don't be afraid, much of the album is still the same, as you would expect Third Day to be. "Revelation" is one of the most amazing songs I have ever heard, and the single "Call My Name"
is almost just as awesome. "Give Love" is definitely a point of interest, with an 1960's country barnyard music kind of style."Revelation" is also a very personal album, with cool songs like "Let me love you" and "Take it All". The vulnerability of some of the lyrics are very enjoyable in this project and make a great supplement to their always rock themes. On a scale of five,"Revelation" gets a not quite 4.5, but definitely not below a 4. Overall, the band and fans alike have a lot to be proud of in 2008's REVELATION.

BEST. THIRD DAY. EVER. | Posted July 22, 2008
I think this is the best third day album I've ever heard, and I own all their albums except for the first two. Mac Powell has really grown to a new level vocally, The muscianship is amazingly good, and the overall production is superb. I LOVE that Lacey from Fly Leaf is on two tracks, her voice harmonizes suprisingly well with Mac's. Even though there are not many ballads on this album, several songs brought me to tears. The song writing is much more grounded and real on this record, everyone can relate to the messages of longing and finding ones way that permeate these songs. Without a doubt the album of their career to date.

I love this cd!!! I heard the whole cd on a website, and I have to say that 'Born Again', 'Run to You', and 'Call My Name' are my favorites. I love how Lacey Mosely sings with Mac Powell in 'Born Again'. I`m definitely going to buy the cd when it comes out this month!

Where is Jesus? | Posted July 22, 2008
Unfortunately another Christian Band forsakes Christ for mainstream success. There is no mention of Christ anywhere in any of these songs. All the Lyrics are generic enough that they could be anyone, a friend, a parent, anyone, but not necessarily God. What a disappointment. I could always count on third day to sing about Jesus. Not anymore. It shows how money has not become their most important goal. Are there any true Christian bands left?
