Talk about a Christian Crossover! Third Day has been well in the news for their newest album, revelation, for its surprising difference from other albums. I must say, it's all for good reason. The cd is similar to "Wire" but adds much more southern content and has a little bit more of a rock element. Not to mention, having it produced by the same guy who did Daughtry and POD, along with the guest vocals from Lacey in the smash hit hard rock band Flyleaf make so much of a new sound. This is also a milestone album for them. It is their 11th studio album after the 10 year celebration last year with the Chronology Duo. With that said, Revelation truly is the beginning of a new decade in their music career. Don't be afraid, much of the album is still the same, as you would expect Third Day to be. "Revelation" is one of the most amazing songs I have ever heard, and the single "Call My Name"
is almost just as awesome. "Give Love" is definitely a point of interest, with an 1960's country barnyard music kind of style."Revelation" is also a very personal album, with cool songs like "Let me love you" and "Take it All". The vulnerability of some of the lyrics are very enjoyable in this project and make a great supplement to their always rock themes. On a scale of five,"Revelation" gets a not quite 4.5, but definitely not below a 4. Overall, the band and fans alike have a lot to be proud of in 2008's REVELATION.
