Rock What You Got [edit]
by Superchick | Genre: Pop/Rock | Release Date: June 24, 2008

Inpop Records' sister-fronted band Superchick followed up 700,000 career albums sold and 70 film, television, and video game placements with the premiere of its boldest, most unapologetic project to date, 2008's appropriately-titled Rock What You Got.

Three years in the making, Rock What You Got came on the heels of Superchick's most successful album ever, Beauty From Pain, which landed three No. 1 radio singles, including "We Live" and "Stand In The Rain." With this album, Superchick 'rocks what they've got' and reinvents itself with a more progressive, in-your-face sound the band dubbed 'rock-o-tronic.'

Seeking out world changers in the lost corners of a generation, Superchick noisily challenges the status quo, while journaling the band members' battles with depression and cancer in the quieter moments of the record. Produced by the band's own Max Hsu (Superchick, tobyMac, newsboys), Rock What You Got features the stand-out title track in addition to the songs "Breathe," "Crawl," and "Cross The Line," for which Superchick's spring 2008 headlining tour was named, among others.

Totally Rocked!!! | Posted June 21, 2008
I usually don't buy the whole CD of an album. I just buy the songs that I like from iTunes. Thanks to NRT that made it possible to listen to the new Superchick album before its release. It's simply just a totally rocking album!!! It just blew me away! I heard it only once and I liked all the songs already, especially "Hold", "Alive", and "Rock What You Got". The lyrics are beautiful and the music is awesome. I can't wait to buy this album. Is it Tuesday yet?

Classic Superchick | Posted June 21, 2008
All through it sounds exactly as you would expect from the group, and is almost as enjoyable for me as their debut album.

I found it to be a solid album and will definitely be picking it up when it comes out this Tuesday.

Worth a listen! | Posted June 21, 2008
I recieved the download "Alive" free from the Superchick website. And after listening to it a few times, I decided to download "Rock What You Got EP" from Itunes and pre-order the full album. These songs are upbeat and true to the usual Superchick sound. The lyrics are powerful and relateable. I think this album could move up the list to become my favorite Superchick album ever. A great listen, and definetly worth checking out.

Superchic[k] Crosses The Line | Posted June 21, 2008
Superchic[k] has gone above and beyond on this one, touching on subjects that normal girls deal with every day. I recomend this to every girl, as this CD has already touched me in more ways than I could have ever imagined. You are not wasting your money if you buy it! Their songs such as "Alive", "Rock What You Got", and "Cross The Line" give you that I-Can-Do-Anything feel, encouraging people not to give up and stand up for what they believe in, regardless of what other's think. Definatly sure to be remembered for decades to come!

Superchick | Posted June 21, 2008
When I first heard that Superchick was coming out with a new album I was so excited I almost couldn’t stand it. Luckily, time went by fast and soon enough there were three songs on napster and following that you could listen to the whole album on New Release Tuesday. They start the album off with ‘Rock What You Got.’ This song instantly got me dancing and singing along. Superchick really brought it up another notch from their last album. I am personally still a die heart fan of their first album ‘Karaoke Superstars’ and always will be; but this is coming in close second. Their last album ‘Beauty From Pain’ always made me feel so sad. I like their more upbeat songs that portray “girl power” and independence. This new album has a very nice balance of slow, sentimental songs and their always loved, sanguine styles. Their harmony really shines in ‘Breathe’ and the drums do a nice job at rocking it out in ‘Alive.’ I don’t think that the two songs ‘So Beautiful’ and ‘Cross the Line’ should have been placed next to each other in the album because the sound is too much the same. I kept getting mixed up as to which song was on when the chorus wasn’t playing.

Over all I loved it. I am very stoked to see them in concert at Hills Alive.

Awesome! Can't wait for this much anticipated album to be released. Have been listening to it over and over again (thanks for the new album preview!!!) ALIVE.....HOLD-beautiful harmonies!.....ONE MORE....CRAWL....STAND IN THE RAIN instant favorites. Their music bit at the end is hilarious =D (for Rock Band?....i think) Love the overall message and have been a fan since 2000-2001. Very happy they are a band with the same heart they started with. Thanks for also introducing BGirls to the world!

Superchic[k] Is Definetly Rocking What They Got | Posted June 20, 2008
This is probably Superchic[k]s best album. I love the new sound. Its a mix of rock, hip-hop, and techno. I can see the album being a HUGE sucess for them. Its not normal for me to like every track on an album, but I loved every second of it! The songs flow so well together. I can't wait to add this one to my cd collection.

Fantastic is a great word for this album! I love music that has a message and the crew of superchick has very specifically got a great message in this album. The last time I heard such a clear and verbose voice was "Monkeys at the Zoo" by Charlie Peacock. This album has the message and the music to make the message real and relevant. The song "Alive" really captures the words, emotion and the expression of so many of us altogether. Driving home a point while at the same time bringing out a point in the listener. "Hey Hey" does the same thing in a very pronounced but different way. I have read, the entire band went through hardship prior to making this album. It's not often you hear a battle cry like this after something like that. The entire song list pulls you in but then pushes you right back out. --Your alive now get into the mix of life and live legendary you.-- Yes, that's a message we all need to hear. There is not a song on the album that is lacking in any way. The title exemplifies the creative muse of the band, by the end of the last track you will be on your feet "Rockin What You Got" be it singing dancing or maybe just facing a new day. One thing is for sure you will know you're alive. You will proclaim I am not dead yet! I am not defeated! I didn't come to play I came to win!

1,000 voices strong | Posted June 20, 2008
Wow! I amd in love with this CD, and especially loved SuperChick's new "Hey Hey" as well as "hold" and So Beautiful..Thank you Lord for the gift of music and those artists who share their heart and soul with us. It sure is helpful to hear that our musically talented brothers and sisters go through similar things that we, who are talented in other ways:), go through. Praise you, thank you and please continue to share with us - Superchick has always inspired me and I am grateful for their praise and worship.
Muscially and lyrically, this release is strong. Powerful. I am 40-probably not your target audience, and learned of SuperChick when they were on tour in Irvine, CA (about 8 years ago) and I have never stopped listening. Love you, praise you and adore you. I am a late bloomer and believe it or not.. am very encouraged by the lyrics you share. Thank you for saving me from my periodic sadness. Sometimes, I get a little lost--you always seem to be a part of the armor that brings me back.
