The Best of the Newsboys| Posted July 09, 2010
This album does a good job at capturing the highlights of the career of The Newsboys up until this point in time. Most of the greats are here, along with a few new friends.
Classic hits like "I'm Not Ashamed," "Shine," "Breakfast," and "Take Me To You're Leader" are present here.
More modern hits like "Million Pieces," "Something Beautiful," "He Reigns," and "It Is You" among many others also are included.
Two new tracks are included as well. "I Fought The La" is a classic hokey Newsboys tune. "Stay Strong" is a more serious and rousing song and definitely among the best ever offered by the Newsboys.
While some might be a bit upset at the songs that didn't make the cut, there is still plenty to love here. This is as good album to introduce people to the Newsboys if by some chance, they've lived under a rock since for the past 2 decades. Definitely a worthy compilation.

I still prefer the Essential collection from the Newsboys, but this is a good solid release featuring many of the Newsboys top songs. The two new tracks are an extra plus for this edition.
Not too bad, though not new... (HA!)| Posted March 10, 2011
This is a very good collection of songs as everyone else has said, and if you are a casual newsboys fan who has never bought an album, go ahead and get this over Shine: The Hits. It has more recent music on it that you will know, rather than a bunch of the closet hits that more hardcore fans (like myself) are into.
That said, I will say that I did not buy this album. As a fan, I already had all the songs except the two new ones, so I just downloaded those two. Shine had a lot more new songs that made the entire album worth buying even if you already had most of the songs. This album lacks that and will therefore never be a part of my album collection. Another thing that's a little weird is that "Real Good Thing" didn't make the cut on Shine, but makes it here. I mean, I like the song, but it's just strange. I do like the inclusion of "In the Belly of the Whale", but I do wish a few more newsboys songs could've made the list. "Love Liberty Disco" and "Beautiful Sound" have made neither greatest hits album, and that's a shame, as they are both great songs. Also, there's no really old song on here from before they MADE it, like "I Got Your Number" was on the first album. It'd have been nice to see one of those again. Most of this is nitpicky stuff, but things I'd like, so I'm saying them. :) Casual fans, buy it. Hardcore fans, download the extra stuff, then leave it alone.
Great Album| Posted July 08, 2010
This Greatest Hits album of newsboys was one of the best I have heard. There was a very good mix of old school newsboys, hits from once newsboys got rollin', a few of the newer hits that had garnered huge praise from fans and also a couple of new releases to top it off! And with this assembly of songs I found myself singing along and just cruising listening to the songs.
A Well Put Together Greatest Hits Album| Posted July 27, 2009
As my initial reaction, I must say that this is a well put together greatest hits compilation. You get a large variety of the newsboys songs, from "poppy" songs, to a little rock, and even some techno!
I also have to say that the Newsboys are an interesting group. A couple of the songs (for example, "Breakfast" or "Shine") I had to look up the lyrics for because at first they didn't make any sense at all! "Shine" started to make some sense, but I am yet to discover the meaning of the song "Breakfast"!
Songs I especially enjoyed included "Joy", "It Is You", and "Stay Strong". A couple of the fun songs on the CD include "I Fought The La" and "In The Belly Of The Whale".
The album has a total of 18 songs, including two new recordings ("Stay Strong" and "I Fought The La") and 16 previously released songs.
If you are not a Newsboys fan, but are somewhat interested in their music, then I highly recommend this CD!
Newsboys Greatest Hits| Posted September 24, 2008
I'm a big fan of the Newsboys music, not a huge fan but enough to know many of their songs. I like all of their music and i like how unique it can sound sometimes. Well if you're not familiar with the Newsboys let me tell you that this greatest hits album is a perfect album to pick up and get to know them by. It is composed of many great songs from them both old and recent plus it includes 2 new songs, "I Fought The La..." and "Stay Strong" which i love. I thought that they chose great songs to put on this album although i say they missed a few but overall great lineup og songs. Definitely one album to have especially those who dont know the Newsboys!
