Don't go back to | Posted February 22, 2009
I really liked the music on this cd. This one features their huge hit "Never Going Back To OK" as well as "Myspace Girl", which is based on a true story. I enjoyed this album but I still like their first cd better. These guys are really fun to see in concert by the way.

Great Sophomore Album | Posted October 28, 2008
A great follow up to their debut album. They have matured alot and have amore polished sound on this album. Nice melodic rock albume with a mix of uptempo and slow songs. I love the title song and the song "Ocean Wide." Also the song "Myspace Girl" is a fun listen. Great songwriting on this album that really makes you stop and think.

Ever heard of one republic?

The Afters type of music reminds me sooooo much to One Republic...

Great Lyrics, great beats, and just a complete own style of music!

Even better than the first. | Posted October 07, 2008
When I first bought this CD I wasn't all too familiar with The Afters. Sure, I had bought "I Wish We All Could Win" and enjoyed it, but I was a bit skeptical of buying this. When I finally picked it up, months after the release, I was blown away.

The album includes the upbeat single "Never Going Back To Okay", but that doesn't define the whole album. The Afters show how gifted they really are: They can get you pumped with "Never Going Back To Okay" and in the very next song, get you into a thoughtful, worshipful mood with "Keeping Me Alive."

Anyways, I reccommend this album. My favorite tracks would have to be Keeping Me Alive, Myspace Girl, Ocean Wide, Falling Into Place, and Summer Again. (Which is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.)

Definitely better than OK | Posted August 15, 2008
I have to admit when I first got this album I was disappointed. I left the cd untouched for a week or so, but then I came back to it and listened to it slowly over time. It's really grown on me since my first listen, and I have to say this is a brilliant album. It starts out with a catchy little tune called "The Secret Parade" ,like others, I admit I wish this was longer; because it stops at the climax. But it's still a fun little intro song. Then it moves on into the albums single, "Never Going Back to OK", which is a great song, very catchy and has a great message. Another notable track is "Myspace Girl". It's about their former bass player who met this girl at a fast-food joint and saw her name, then later looked her up on myspace and they eventually got married.(there's more to the story, I just don't have space for it in this review :P)The song has a more teen-pop feel to it, but that just testifies to the Afters diversity in music and is still a good song. On a whole, this album is well written lyrically and musically. I would list all the songs I like on this album, but it's easier to say the one's I don't like. The only one is "Summer Again" which honestly isn't that bad, just not on as high a level as the rest of the album in my opinion. This album is quickly becoming one of my favorites in my zune. So go pick this one up ASAP, you won't regret buying it!

My rating: 9.4

Edit: I now like the song "Summer Again." It grew on me :P.

So as amazing as I Wish We All Could Win was, Never Going Back to OK just runs right over it. This is by far one of the best cds on the market. I also love the story of why the song Never Going Back to OK was written.

I wasn't going to get this CD at first, but I was at the Family Christian Store and they had it as one of their member specials for $5. How could I pass that up? So I listened to it. I love it. A lot. The songs are all really catchy. I think my favorite song is probably Tonight.

I'm OK. Are You? | Posted April 04, 2008
We have waited too long for The Afters next CD to Come out. I Wish We All Could Win was an excellent debut CD. Well their new CD is finally out.I must say,IMO it was well worth the wait. The title song,"Never Going Back TO OK" is an excellent song with a catchy beat and a great message to boot."Keeping Me Alive" is a fantastic song.It is just now getting airplay on CCM radio. This song has a powerful message and should be a big hit for The Afters. My two favorite songs on the CD are "Ocean Wide" and Summer Again". These are great ballads with great lyrics that speak to my spirit about the great love God has for each of us. As they say in the song "love is an ocean wide". "We are the Sound" is a good rockin' song I feel all will enjoy. Now we get to the most talked about song on this CD-"Myspace Girl".I have read other reviews saying this song shouldn't even be on the CD etc, etc.I like the song.I find myself singing along with it as I'm sure most of you do. Enjoy the song for what it is- a nice little ditty.I saw The Afters perform this song live and they get the crowd involved by clapping along. We really liked it.
If you do not have this CD,I urge you to get it. You won't ever go back to OK again
