TOP 10 ALBUM OF 2007 | Posted November 19, 2007
For once, I would love for MercyMe to release an album in February. It seems that with each release, I'm scrambling to cram it into my ears before my annual round up and by the time I've had a chance to truly discover the album, it's fallen off my radar and never gets mentioned. This year, I made it a point to listen to MercyMe's latest and I'm glad I did. Unfortunately, I haven't listened to anything else the past two weeks. The album has consumed my daily rotation.

MercyMe is one of Christian music's most steady acts. They have faithfully put out new music on a regular basis and while they rarely break new ground with their songwriting, their albums consistently feel fresh and new. Much credit should be given to lead singer Bart Millard's incredible voice that consistently takes an ok song and turns it into a soaring balled or pop performance.

The groups' sixth national release finds MercyMe doing what they do best. There are driving pop songs like "Time Has Come" and "Goodbye Ordinary", beautiful ballads like "I Know" and worship-filled moments like "You Reign" and "God With Us". There are just some albums that are just easy to listen to and not much needs to be said about them. This is simply one of those albums.

My Favorite Album | Posted February 01, 2008
OK, so maybe I'm a little biased because MercyMe has been my favorite band for the past three years. But "All That is Within Me" is an incredible record. There are no weak tracks on this album. From the debut single "God With Us" to the beautiful closer "Finally Home" this record doesn't let you down. Other greats like "You Reign", "Grace Tells Us Another Story", "My Heart Will Fly", and "Goodbye Ordinary" keep up the pace. My personal favorite would have to be "Finally Home". If you are a fan of the CCM genre then I would advise you to purchase this CD. The DVD that goes along with the collector's edition just sweetens the deal.

All That Is Within Me Says This is a Good CD | Posted January 02, 2008
MercyMe is one of my favorite bands and this album does not disappoint. The cd opens with a roar and honestly doesn't let go. The first two songs, Goodbye Ordinary and Time Has Come, are two songs that immediately caught my attention as upbeat songs that never let go. The first single off the album, God With Us, is spectacular and makes me worship while singing along, which MercyMe has always been so good at. The bonus album ends with three acoustic versions of songs, God With Us, Sanctified, and Finally Home. God With Us is beautiful and Sanctified is well done as well but Finally Home really is finally home in it's acoustic form. It is such a loving song that is beautifully played and full of heart and thought as well. The DVD has a great concert from the guys that is cool as well as spiritual. The All That is Within Me stuff is actually a little lacking. A neat tour of where they did the recording and a little bit of the back story is included and although interesting don't really merit a second watch. Still, the DVD is worth it just for the concert which actually got me out of my seat in front of my chair and singing, chills going up and down my spine. Just brilliant during Bring the Rain. Overall, this is a cd that shouldn't be missed and one that is in this writer's humble judgment a great worship album.
