Vernell Payton is an artist whose passion lies in creating powerful, effective Contemporary Christian music that stretches it's genre and encompasses R&B/Soul music as well. This is clearly evident with his second single release “Forever Yours”, from the forthcoming release MVP (The EP), which will be available January 2016. “Forever Yours” comes as a follow up to his debut single “With You” which is currently growing in radio airplay.
Hailing from New Orleans, Louisiana, Vernell has managed to create a distinctive style and sound. Payton has a unique presence on stage; he tends to captivate the audience with his soulful crooning and ability to not just sing but to actually connect with his audience. Without compromising the Message, the inspiration of Luther Vandross, Anita Baker, and Smokie Norful are evident vocally.
Payton’s musical performance history includes opening for Brian Courtney Wilson, performing at local festivals and charitable events, and singing before thousands during the Louisiana Southern Berith District Conference of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International.
In 2014 Payton signed with 4Parks Entertainment Inc., an indie entertainment company and record label under the direction of businessman/singer/songwriter Fred T. Williams (Chicago, IL), and released his debut single entitled “With You”. “With You” is currently being played in several cities and over 10 countries. Poised to become a mainstay in the music industry, Payton is a rising star that you will want to keep your eyes on.
