Superchick celebrates its legacy with RECOLLECTION, bringing together 5 fresh new songs with 11 of its best loved hits.

What started in a basement in a Chicago suburb grew into a musical journey that lasted over a decade. From movies to TV shows to video games, Superchick's brand of girl power pop snuck its way into living rooms and headphones all over the world.

The new songs found on RECOLLECTION are some of the funkiest Superchick songs to date. A candy shell of synth gloss coats a foundation of MPC grooves swung by fat analog basses. Production flourishes speak of obsessive all-nighters spent on tiny details only revealed by repeated listenings. Says Superchick's studio guru Max Hsu, 'The only way you get to make music like this is if it's your first or last album. Everything else gets rushed out the door by the almighty deadline.' As always, the lyrics run deeper than typical pop bumper sticker sloganeering. It was a year of tragedy and loss for the band, with many lyrics written in hospital waiting rooms, yet the songs are a celebration of life and hope.

For those new to Superchick, RECOLLECTION takes you on a journey from the very first Superchick song ever written right through to the present day. 'One Girl Revolution' was written, recorded and played entirely by the band without the usual stable of big label hitmakers. Despite its lack of 'adult supervision,' the song immediately licensed as the closing track for 'Legally Blonde' and went on to be used in many movies and TV shows. Superchick never wavered from its DIY ethos, and every track on every record was written and produced by the band. Many of the songs made it to the big screen and the small screen and others onto the radio. The band played shows all over the world and picked up a Grammy nomination and many other awards along the way. Eleven of those hits were chosen personally by the band for RECOLLECTION, and most Superchick fans will find their favorites among them.

Also included with RECOLLECTION is a DVD of the band's music videos, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the making of a stunt-filled music video Superchick shot entirely on its own.

We can hope that these aren't the final five new songs from Superchick, but if they are, it's a fantastic note to end 13 years of making music on. From the beginning to the end, you'll find it all on RECOLLECTION.
