It's been a quick minute since my last review, but now there's an album out that is worth mentioning. Darwin Hobbs is an excellent vocalist and it shows on his new cd "FREE". If you're familiar with him, you'll notice this cd is a much different musically than in the past. He drifts between urban gospel, to CCM, to a really cool and funky Beatle-esque tune called "Heal the Land". The title track is an amazing testament to how the redeeming and unconditional love of God through Jesus is liberating. He sings about how with the love of Christ, you can be free from your past, guilt and shame(I prefer the acoustic version). The song "He's Able" is a reminder that no matter what life throws at you, God is able. The lyrics state, "Don't give up on God 'cause He won't give up on you!" Nuff said.

What can I say? Kirk Franklin once again squashes all nay-sayers, wannabes, and doubters. The "haters" if you will. Just like "Hero", he gives us personal testamonies and makes us want to have a more personal relationship with God. He uses tight beats and melodies, but it's his words that convey the longing that we all have to be more like Christ. The song that resonates in my spirit the most is "How it used to be". Remember when you first got saved and you were on fire for the Lord?!?! Well as time went on, you let the cares of this world get to you. Now you realize this and you are sorry for not fully believeing that God is who He says He is. But in spite of everything,God welcomes us back into His loving embrace. Hallelujah!
Funny, funny, funny... | Posted September-11-2007
If you need to laugh (which is good for your health), then this is the album for you! If you are familiar with Tyler Perry's plays and movies, then you know who "Brown" is. If not, rent/buy "Meet the Browns" and then buy this album. You will laugh til it hurts. David A. Mann aka "Brown" is a talented man of God and is funny as all get out. He is a triple threat. His acting is on point and his singing voice is velvety smooth and his dancing skills are unexplainable. God gave us laughter to help relieve the stress and troubles of this daily walk. Thank God for blessing us with David Mann and his talents!
Another great artist... | Posted September-11-2007
God sure knows what He's doing! When He was handing out talent, He made sure that Lexi Allen got some of His best. Her voice is sweet and has a calmness about it. Her latest album "What Heaven Hears" is another awesome album. My favorite songs are "Jehovah Jirah", "We Build an Alter", "He's here Right Now" and "Trust in Me only". In the midst of her pain, loss, and weariness, she is able to convey that God is always there and will continue to keep us. God bless those who are able to endure this life and what it throws at us. Lexi is a living witness through song that God is still an awesome God. This album is a great pick-me-up. No pity-parties here, just some good ol praise and worship!
Thirsty | Posted September-10-2007
The title just bout sums it up...Marvin Sapp gives us another thought provoking message. The world is so hungry and thirsty for someting, but it either doesn't want God or they don't realize that He is the only one who will give you water so you'll never thirst again. Tracks 5 and 6 are another testimony of how to live out our lives. We should praise God BEFORE the outcome and not when the outcome comes (I know, I know). The title track "Thirsty" is right on point. There's not much to say about this album except that it speaks to my soul. This album whether with it's bumpin' beats or sweet melodies, will have you coming back for more to drink. God is an amazing God!

I finally got the Joann Rosario. It's awesome. So very different than the last 2. My favorite song is "Glory to you" trak #2. For me to know that all things, from what to eat and wear to having bad days, God deserves all the glory. No matter what happens in the day, God is worthy of all the praise, glory and honor. Plus it has a catchy hook. "Traces" reminds me that in everything we do, it better be God ordained or else it's all in vain. Ask God for direction in everyday situations. You'll know it's God if you're in His word. J.R.'s "Beyond" is also a great worship song. She sings about not settling. She sings about experiencing God, not just reading stories about Him, but to grow a relationship with Him. He's again an awesome God. Ask God to elevate you to the next level of worship and truth. Thaaaaankk You Jeeeessssuuusss for your unconditonal love and for allowing us to move "beyond" the mess we've created for ourselves. Get this album.

Ok, this is one of the best albums out to date. I've been waiting for this for 2 years. Right off the get-go, Myron & Levi get your blood pumpin with the first single "Stronger". As the cliched saying goes, "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger"...this song tells us that just because you're saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost, doesn't mean your walk with God is going to be an easy one. Jesus himself told us that. "Unrestrained" is an awesome testimony to how we should live our lives for Christ. We should give him our hearts without strings attached; unrestrained. This album overall is great for worship and devotion. Myron & Levi are true worshippers.
