Homerun! | Posted February-14-2014
Skillet definitely hit a homerun with this album. I've been following Skillet for a little over 13 years now and I've loved every minute of the journey with this band. They definitely got me through some pretty rough hardships. I never expected for my loyalty to stick with a band for this long, but they always manage to reel me in. Everything about this band has always been about change, whether people actually recognized it or not. Throughout the ages skillet has relied on more of an old fashion traditional rock, worship music, electronic rock, hard rock, and eventually even added the violin and cello. Initially an all male group and eventually had two males and females. The best thing about this band is that allthough they stay true to themselves they also manage to change things just enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. With this album they definitely surprised me again. In this album I finally felt that I heard more of God in their music again. It was like listening to a mission that we should fulfill as Christians. It definitely has touch me on many levels. If you're looking for diversity as well this album definitely has that. I mean you have power ballods, edgy rock songs, and even a song that has blues, jazz sort of feel. My Religion from this album definitely has that blues sort of vibe where you just wanna snap your fingers along with the music. This is a great album! You will love it!!!
Awesome Songs! | Posted February-14-2014
Well what can I say Everfound has a special place in my heart. For me it's more personal with this band because I grew up with them being a part of a lot of the major local events such as heavenfest. I love their mission and outlook on life, it's a real eye opener. Our Colorado boys are making it big now and are definitely making a change very quickly. As far as this EP goes I say hands down, some of the best music I've listened to. It features a new rendition of She Said from Colorful Alibis and Scandalous Smiles, but also features a song called Are You With Me Now which I found extremely powerful in the way they conveyed their message. From the moment I heard it live I could not get enough of this song and it finally came out on this EP about a year or so later. If you can find this EP or any of the songs still, I definitely reccomend listening to it because ever since they officially signed with a label the album and EP have not been found anywhere. Maybe through the power of the fans we can get this EP back up sooner than later. Overall awesome group and music. I wish them all the luck in the world and pray that God continues to bless them.
