Film Material | Posted July-30-2011
If this isn't a movie, you gotta wonder why. The story is fast paced and electric, with plenty of confusion. I thought I was going to put it down after a couple of chapters because I hate math, and it's about a secret algorithm. But the story gripped me. A thrilling read!

Exciting | Posted July-30-2011
I wanted to see this through to the end. An exciting legal tale that's full of surprise twists I never expected in a million years. I kind of wished there was more about Hannah (Stinky). I love thriller novels.

Loved Maria's story | Posted June-01-2011
I feel like I know (sort of) little Maria because of her story being told in this book. Mary Beth Chapman's story is of a family who lives what they believe, loves abundantly, and stays together in the storm.

Interesting stories | Posted May-25-2011
In this book, you see stories from the headlines come to life, and untold stories revealed. Philip Yancey brings a message of hope to people who have gone through unimaginable pain and confusion. Each example of a place God is needed is paired with a paraphrase of a speech he gave to people affected by it. A book which will leave something with you after you read it.

So good! | Posted May-21-2011
I loved how T.L. Higley dared to tackle writing about the spiritual forces battling, not just the humans. She can really weave a story. I would love to read more about Cassia, Julian, and Alexander. I hope Obadas and Decimus find love and hope.

I can't wait for the library to get books 2 and 3. You kind of already know who he'll end up with, but the ride is tender, sad, and joyous. I guessed about Jack from the start. It's a little predictable, this story, but the ride is fun!

Elizabeth | Posted May-17-2011
Reading the other series first, I only heard about her. Now, getting to know her, it's just so sad. And yet, it's a season of miracles for the Baxters; Ashley's HIV was misdiagnosed, she and Landon wed, Erin and Sam go from barrenness to one adoption to none to 4, and Dayne meets his birth mother before she dies. You will probably cry reading this. I can't remember if I did or not.

Poor Hayley... | Posted May-17-2011
Every parent's worst nightmare, but oh what a testimony! Brooke and Peter's struggles with forgiveness, drug addiction....it just goes to show that God can work miracles and lead people to Himself. And Landon's commitment to Ashley, HIV and all, is amazing.

Oh, Luke... | Posted May-17-2011
I loved Return! I knew how it would end having read the Firstborn and the "S" series books, but I still ached for Reagan and Tommy, as well as Luke. I really hope Lori comes to know God. Good story....it shows how we can easily slide if our faith is shallow.
