Very Good | Posted May-03-2011
I loved the first track "Always" on this EP. The song had a lot of depth and emotion. I also liked Beth's rendition of "In the Light". The overdriven guitar added a lot to the mix. Overall I thought this was a great initial release for Beth and look forward to hearing more from her in the future. There was quite a bit of varying styles and feelings in the songs presented.

A good first release for Ashley. Overall I felt that many of the songs on this EP were a little linear, as if someone drew a straight line and the music and singing just swung gently along that line without deviating or exploring very far away from it. It was just kind of safe. I look forward to hearing future releases and development of Ashley's range and some more vocal exploration in the future.

A good solid single. When I first started listening to this track it didn't grab me right away, but by the time it was over I found myself enjoying it quite a bit. I thought the song combined quite a few different styles of music well and I couldn't pin the sound to any other artist off the top of my head...which was good.

Essentially a live worship concert. This is Martha's signature album style. This release did not grab my attention but I did appreicate how worshipful and Christ centered it was. This release would probably be attractive to anyone who enjoys a live gospel sound in their music.

Matha's Christmas album. The arrangements are pretty good at times, but overall I don't care very much for Martha's delivery. For Christmas music I guess I prefer the old classics that I grew up with instead. I'm sure this album will be liked by others though.

I didn't really care for this release that much. It was a live album (which I don't usually like) and the arrangements just didn't capture my attention. I did appreciate that the album was very Christ centered and worshipful.

Good beginning | Posted April-25-2011
A very good beginning for this band. I would still recommend "Weights & Measures" to anyone interested in the band, but this was a good start for them and shows a lot of talent. I think the band could really go far if they continue focusing on their songwriting.

I did not like this release anywhere near as much as the 'Weights & Measures' release, but it shows the beginnings of a band that has a lot of talent and just needs to continue refining their songwriting and song arrangements. I am looking to hear more from this band.
