Will Hunt, creator of the apt.core projects, seeks to blend together unique rhythms with scriptural concepts to create a meditative artform that will help you contemplate the deeper issues of the faith. Needless to say, apt.core's work tends to be different.
Even though computer-synthesized rhythms are the foundation that he builds upon, think less Andy Hunter/dance, and more experimental/ambient-style stuff. In other words, don't look for any of this stuff to show up on Alias, but it does make a good soundtrack to work or have devotions to.
2 finds Hunt feeling quite novel, employing lots of Middle Eastern and Oriental sounds, along with the usual percussion. Sometimes you'll hear words mixed or scratched into the rhythms -- usually taken straight from scripture -- and on occasion you might even hear some singing. All in all, it's a trip through Hunt's creative brain that makes for a most intriguing journey. Only the most nontraditional listeners need apply, but those that do will be rewarded.
