Gospel singer Joy Mobley was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At an early age Mobley began singing in church and various play productions. As the young Mobley kept singing, she soon found herself singing as Hal Jackson’s Miss Minnesota Talented Teen in 2003. After going on to sing in St. Thomas Virgin Islands, Mobley’s professional career gained momentum after winning Minnesota Idol in 2006. Her melodic vocals were soon featured in the verses of our National Anthem at professional basketball games for the Minnesota Gophers and the Atlanta Hawks.
While Mobley stayed busy singing on church praise teams and various professional events, she simultaneously worked on her bachelors degree in Mass Media Arts – with a concentration in television – from Clark Atlanta University. After graduating in 2009, Mobley’s voice traveled across the Atlantic as far as Wiesbaden Germany, Kenya, Africa and reaching beyond the Pacific to Hawaii.
Inspired by gospel greats like Yolanda Adams, Cece Winans, Crystal Lewis, and Mary Mary, Mobley has also found inspiration from Whitney Houston, Brandy, and Mariah Carey. Happily married as a new mother Mobley has recently released her Christmas EP “Season of Joy” AVAILIBLE NOW ON iTUNES.
