As a native of Brooklyn NY. Growing up in the big city had its pressures and difficulties, especially being an only child in a single parent household.

Onaje was blessed to have a mother who was heavily involved in the church. As an early child, his first memories of church were music, and at Bridge Street A.M.E. in Brooklyn NY. Onaje would watch his mother sing as a soloist. Later on as a teenager he would find himself singing and playing drums for the choir.

A few years later Onaje and his mother started to attend The Brooklyn Tabernacle where he joined the youth ministry and began to sing with The Brooklyn Tabernacle Youth Choir. Onaje quickly found himself develop a passion for the things of God.

Soon to follow, he would Join The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir where he served as a choir soloist, worship leader, and member of the traveling group "The Brooklyn Tabernacle Singers". Onaje was a part of the writing team with Carol Cymbala the director of The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.

Onaje currently serves as a member of Israel & New Breed. Now at the age of 32 Onaje has been married for 9 wonderful years to a beautiful woman of God, Veronica Jefferson and they have a 2 year old daughter Mayah Jefferson.

The Jeffersons currently attend New Life Fellowship in Queens, NY where his brother in law Richard Villodas is the Senior Pastor.

Onaje continues to pursue the call of God on his life, to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone who has an ear to listen.
