I Just Can't Walk Away Now is 287's sophomore album, and a worthy follow-up to his 2013 entry It's a Pity You Couldn't Stay. Co-written by Nate and Levi Hambrick, this second entry showcases a growth in maturity and musical diversity, including a refreshing appearance by guest vocalists Caleb Seibert and Johanna Six.
The album's singles include Walk Away, Sand Castles, and They Won't Like What They See, which are some of the strongest tracks that the Hambricks have penned so far. If this record is any indication, the future looks brighter than ever for 287. It truly would be a shame to walk away now.
love it!| Posted March 26, 2013
I love this whole album! I think Somehow Understood is my favorite so far, but that might change once I listen through it a couple more times.
A Brilliant Musician| Posted March 26, 2013
I've followed Nate since back in the days of Karpenter's Kids, and have loved their work.
287 is a project full of passion and brilliant musicianship. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for him. I wrote a review for "Pity" (can be read on NRT and Amazon), and gave Hambrick's debut album a 7.5/10 rating.
The quality of 287 is seldom seen in a new band's debut release! be sure to give "Pity" a spin or two!
Just bought 287's debut album| Posted March 25, 2013
After listening to 287's new album "It's A Pity You Couldn't Stay" for the first time this week, I found myself enjoying myself more than I have from any other independant artist that I can recall in recent history.
The vocalist has a clean, easy-on-the-ears voice that goes quite well with the music that encompasses it. Even more importantly, several of the songs on this CD are quite catchy, and I found myself humming them subconsciously throughout the following day.
That being said, it's not a perfect album. The acoustic rendition at the end leaves isn't as strong as it could be, and another one of the songs (I think it was "Life is Good") lacks the focused energy that the rest of the album exudes so brilliantly.
Overall, this album is still a good listen. 8/10. It would "be a pity" not to check it out.
Truly a hidden gem| Posted March 25, 2013
I'd never heard of 287 before stumbling across him on youtube, but I'm so glad I did! He is truly gifted, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for this up-and-coming Christian artist.
