Andrea Olson has had a life-long passion for music, ministry and drawing people closer to Jesus. She has been a worship leader for the past 7 years at The Harbor Foursquare Church in West Central Minnesota. In addition to leading worship, she has had the privilege of working with the Youth of the church and community, teaching and equipping them to be musicians and worship leaders.
Andrea’s early life involved music ministry as well. Growing up in rural West Central Minnesota, Andrea’s whole family was musical. She grew up singing in church with her family and with an area Youth For Christ music ministry. After studying at the Biola University Conservatory in Los Angeles, Andrea married her wonderful husband in 2005. Together, they have been ministering in their church and around the community. In 2011, they welcomed a beautiful daughter into their family.
Over the past year, Andrea has felt a call to ministry that would lead her and her family outside of the four walls of their home church. It is an exciting, yet somewhat uncertain time as they seek God for the complete direction of this ministry.
“Even though it’s scary to step out of my comfort zone, I know that this is what God has called me to do, and now the call is clearer and stronger than its ever been, so I have to step out and trust His leading.”
In the past 5 years, while serving at their home church, Andrea has released 3 Christmas albums and one acoustic worship EP. In 2012, she launched a YouTube ministry releasing worship videos. And as part of their new exciting ministry journey, Andrea is excited to announce her first project in Nashville with Dove Award winning producer Don Koch. The album will be released on February 26th!
“My heart is really to bring music that will bless and encourage people. It doesn’t matter how the music gets out to people, I just want it to be a blessing. I know that we, as God’s people, are desperate to hear His voice. I know that God has called me to lead people to a place in worship where they can finally sit for long enough to hear His voice and all that He wants to say…shut out the noise and the rest of life for a moment…and hear Him speak. I pray that the music I write will draw people to that place and bring encouragement to their souls.”
