Liars, Thieves & Fools formed in early 2010, but has been a work in progress since 2005. Friends Garth Bostic (Lead vocals, guitar) and Joey Avalos (Guitar) have toyed with the possibility of starting a writing project since they last performed together in the band Sky Harbor (Inpop Records).

Since Sky Harbor, Joey Avalos has pursued a career as a guitarist for the rock band Pillar and now writes and performs with the pop band Stars Go Dim. Garth Bostic graduated from Arizona State University, started a family and performs from time to time with local Arizona band Maple Ash.

After 5 years of struggling to find time to write and record Garth and Joey realized that it was time to make it happen. Within a couple of writing sessions, Liars Thieves & Fools formulated enough material to record a full-length record but decided to go ahead and produce a 4 song self-titled EP instead." These days, music listeners are too ADD," says guitarist and co-writer Joey Avalos. That's why we decided to record an EP instead of a full length record. That and the fact our budget only allowed us to record 4 songs."

Recorded over the course of 3 days in Nashville, TN, at Off The Wall Studios, Liars, Thieves & Fools produced an organic, warm recording with the help of their good friends Robert Venable (Engineer/Mix), Lester Estelle Jr. (Drums) and Luke Sullivant (Electric guitars, slide, and bass). "Since we didn't have a band and we didn't want to be some kind of folk duo, we thought, why not get our talented friends together and see what kind of noise we can make," says Joey. "Our approach was all about capturing a moment," says Garth. There were a lot of one takes and mistakes. That's how they did it back in the day."

Their back in the day mentality and DYI approach to music is a refreshing outlook in a day where popular music is forced down listeners throats. "There is no big machine behind us. No one telling us what we can or cannot do. We wrote and recorded these songs because we love them and our only agenda is to continue to write and record songs and share them with people that want to hear them. Hopefully the listener will enjoy the songs as much as we enjoyed creating them," says Joey.
