Peculiar is a Washington DC native Christian rap artist. He has been writing and rapping since the age of 5. He grew up in a crime plagued neighborhood where he idolized and trailed the street life. Like many in the inner city, he took to rapping as a way of escaping his environment and verbalizing his mind. While attending a Sunday service in one of the local churches, he had an encounter with God and he accepted Christ. It was on that day the Lord rescued him and he began pursuing after Christ. He now has newness of life and is shameless of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
He recognizes and has answered the call to minister through his gift to write and rap. Through each word he speaks there’s a message to be heard, meeting listeners where they are. His life journey testifies how a renewed mind produces conversion. He is modest to be a part of leading others to Christ, especially troubled youth who are growing up as he did. He is evidence that anyone’s living can be changed perpetually just like his. Communities are polluted with problems and he’s joined forces with other youth leaders in presenting the solution—Jesus Christ.
Peculiar has found the inspiration to give up his secular music works and focus on knowing the Lord and making him known from listening to two of his favorite Gospel artist; Lecrae and Tye Tribbet. He is twenty-seven years old and currently resides in Northern Virginia with his wife. He’s a member of Spirit of Faith Ministries under the Pastoral leadership of Apostle Louise F. Carter. He works with the music ministry in his church where he performs and writes songs for the choirs. He also performs at outreaches and other local churches.
He’s passionate about making an impact on today’s youth and future generations through transparent and relatable messages. He prays the impact of his messages will extend far beyond purely the music and into the lives of believers across the world. He persists to live a Spirit-led life as he fulfills his predestined purpose.
