Each week, dozens of singles and a handful of projects are released in the Christian Hip-Hop (CHH) and Urban Soul spaces. Below, we listen to a few highlights and list the rest for your own discovery. As always, follow our New Christian Rap & Hip Hop playlist on Spotify and Apple Music to listen to all the latest.
Losing Daylight by Brinson
Godchaserz Entertainment founder and CHH veteran himself, Brinson returns with his historic thirteenth album titled, Losing Daylight. The multi-faceted nine-track project marks as a follow-up to his 2023 album, Lord Prepare a Table as well as the collaboration project with Jared Allstar titled, Acknowledge Him (The New Bloodline). Brinson has been a mainstay in CHH for nearly 20 years remaining unapologetically unashamed with his presentation of theology, the Gospels, and keeping the word of God on his lips.
Inspired by John 9:4, this album is a call to action. "We must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work." We don’t know the time or hour of the Lord’s return, so we must use every moment to fulfill the Great Commission. Whether it’s through creative gifts like rap or by being a light in your workplace, this album challenges and inspires you to point others to the Cross while there’s still time,” states Brinson.
With powerful features from Oatmeal, ReadyWriter, Monster Tarver, Davina, Jarred Allstar, Tweli G, and Deondre David, Losing Daylight is a soundtrack for those working tirelessly for the Kingdom. Favorites include “I Was Finished” featuring Monster Tarver and Deondre David, “Turn It Around,” and “Truth and Life” featuring Tweli G. This album is experimental, confrontational, innovative, and unique to what Lord Prepare a Table contained serving as the first portion. Brinson opened up some new eyes and new neighborhoods of fanbases this time around. Stream Losing Daylight on Spotify here.
