Journey Worship Co. is a group of musicians from The Journey Church in Lebanon, Tennessee. They each have a heart for the Lord, which makes for a powerful team led by God to create worship. I remember writing a devotional on their first album, Volume One (Live), and it has been incredible to see their reach grow since then. I'll be doing a throwback to that album and a feature of their new Christmas song.

"Precious Jesus" beautifully reminds us our Savior doesn't desire glamour; He only longs for our hearts. The repetitive chorus singing "Jesus, Jesus/Precious Jesus" is a simple yet powerful cry of worship. I've seen many people get carried away with the extravagance and technicality of praise when all we have to do is open our mouths and sing. Maybe you're not the best singer (I'm most certainly not), but He doesn't care. A child singing His name in a spirit of awe is a much more exquisite performance in His eyes than a global worship leader repeating words they don't believe. The heart counts, and I challenge you to check up on your heart as you praise Him this week. One day, the whole world will shout praise to our Heavenly Father. Are you truly ready?

O come, O come, Thou Lord of might."
No matter that the Christmas season is technically "over," according to department store standards, this song is still relevant. While all stores mark down decorations to clear them out, I often struggle to hang on to the Christmas spirit. In 2023, God has taught me humility as I am reminded of His sacrifice, which is not a lesson I want to lose. The fact that we rejoice regardless of our circumstances because He has saved us is an incredible experience. I pray you will join me in giving Him the glory year-round. His salvation never goes out of stock.
