Each week, dozens of singles and a handful of projects are released in the Christian Hip-Hop (CHH) and Urban Soul spaces. Mission - "Marvelous" RMG Amplify and AOYNOM's Mission dropped his third single of the year. Also, he's released two singles collaborating with BrvndonP in 2023. His last album released was in 2021, Less Is More. The concept behind the single is a combination of targetting how good life can be with the influence of God along with the blessings included. The track is infused with a unique, soulful sample, horns, 808's and melodies within. Mission speaks on the comparison of life before and after Christ. One of my favorite bars from Mission was, "I can't sell my soul / it ain't nothing that I want bad enough / won't fix my mouth to say something if I can't back it up." A.I. the Anomaly x Carolinah Blu - "Don't Eat Crow" Buffalo's A.I. and Carolinah Blu formulated their next hit, number three of 2023. Her artistic formula combines hip-hop, jazz, blues, and poetry. It's poetic, gritty, yet smooth. This single hit the sonic values of all these musical genres extensively. The wordplay, rhyme, structure, and combination of each blend ever so beautifully. Carolinah Blu is A.I.'s producer and his influence is felt regardless of the track. The title derives from a household phrase her adoptive mom would say repeatedly. Don't eat from the bottom or settle. Don't reach for the expected, normal, or scraps. Strive to be better. To achieve excellence and soar with the eagles. Self-Titled (HEAVENONEARTH) by HEAVENONEARTH HEAVENONEARTH is a newly formed collective recruited by Reach Records' WHATUPRG over the past two-year period. The included artists and producers are as follows: WHATUPRG, Kaleb Mitchell, Not Klyde, Aklesso, 350, A3, Rhomar Jessy, YXNGXSAUCE, AC, Killawatts, Enzo Gran and Juicebangers. The 12 creatives are a tight-knit group of friends known as "Hooligans" (hoolies). The concept behind the collective is based on Matthew 6:10 which says, "May your Kingdom come soon, May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven." Within a 3-week period in June of their existence, the first single was released and the debut album dropped.
The album consists of 10 solid tracks without any need for skips by the listener. Personal favorites include "NOTRE DAME," "REIGN," and "RINGS." Without a doubt, the album should be considered for album of the year. If not for the solid lyrical contributions, but also the sonic value of the pristine production elements. "REIGN" provides that worship experience. "NOTRE DAME" exhibits lyrical brilliance and represents a production masterpiece. "HOOLIES IN PARIS" will get your heart pumping.
