Bayside Worship is the worship ministry for Bayside Community Church. They are based in Bradenton, FL, but with the release of their music, the truth they sing about has traveled the world. They have a specific mission best stated in their words: "we aim to cultivate worship experiences that are authentic and creative to help people encounter God."
Their first album was released in 2011; since then they have grown not just as a band, but as a community. This increased unity was celebrated with their latest album All My Hope. We take a look at two songs off this record and dive into the lyrical meaning behind the melodies, below.
We Will Never Stop
In my searching, I have found
A refuge for my soul
You're my rock and firm foundation
The One who made me whole
I absolutely adore this upbeat jam from Bayside Worship. With energy and enthusiasm, they relay the faithfulness of Jesus unto each listener and that dedication is incredible to me as one of the many tuning into their praise.
One of the lines that stood out the most to me is when they sing, "Nothing can hold us, nothing can hold us back/From Your great love." No matter the lies that the Devil tries to place in your head, it is true that when we are intentional about seeking God, there is nothing that can hold back His presence from meeting us where we are at. He looks at us, as we are filled with love for our Creator, and can't help but respond. The crazy thing is that when we doubt Him the most, He still loves us. He has overwhelming care for His children even when it's not reciprocated and for that reason, I will never stop praising His name; nothing can hold me back!
I Will Boast
I will boast I will boast
In Jesus Christ my only hope
All my sin is washed away
Now I will boast in Jesus' Name
This flowing worshipful moment is an experience paralleled by no other. I deeply admire how focused all the worship leaders are on God during the entire song. Bayside Worship as a collective is sure to strip away any signs of performance in favor of simply letting the name of Jesus resound. What a blessing it was to join in this if only for a few minutes.
The majesty of God is beautifully reflected through these lyrics, for who else could pull us from the depths? I'll be frank with everyone reading this, I have no idea what you are currently going through. But I do know that we serve a God who has already claimed every victory. I refuse to be shy when I house that truth within me. When climbing the mountain in front of you seems like an impossible task, remember the words of Matthew 17:20-21: "Jesus replied, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." With God in you, you can overcome. Oh "Jesus Messiah. Nothing is greater than You."
