Impressive Debut Album| Posted December 10, 2007
There have been several impressive debut albums in the last 2 years. Leeland, Jackson Waters, Rush of Fools and Needtobreathe top the list for me. This album rocks from start to finish and was among the most pleasant surprises of 2006 along with Plumb, Newsboys, Downhere and Jars of Clay. Like everyone else, I love "Shine On" and also "Haley" and "You Are Here". Great album. Even better group.

Needtobreathe's first try is not a failure. it is indeed a success. The first time I heard them was on Gospel music channel, where I saw the music video for "You are here". I thought it was pretty good, but it didn't interest me too much until i got their full album.
It starts off with "Don't wait for Daylight". Its not that great of a song, but it got stuck in my head for a long time. It was a pretty good start, and it set the theme for the album. Next comes "Quit". This is one of my favorites. It's one of the more upbeat songs on the album. "Shine on" is probably my favorite. It's a really uplifting song, which also has good music to it.
The next two songs, "Don't Leave Just yet" and "Haley" are low points. They kind of bore me, especially Haley. "Knew it all" is another upbeat rock song which has another catchy chorus to it. This song brings the album back to life a little bit.
The next few are just mediocre songs. Finally, "I wont look back ends Daylight on a good note. All in all I thought they gave it their best, and they did a great job while doing it. I knew these guys had a ton of potential when I heard this, and they have showcased their talents, in their latest releases.

Fresh Music| Posted January 15, 2008
I listened to this CD based on a CCM Magazine editor's pick for a top 10 album of 2006. And wow, was I blown away. Every song was fresh. The music was incredibly original and the tunes catchy. I found myself humming these songs for a few weeks after only hearing them once, so I downloaded quite a few of them. I enjoy the progressive rock sound that isn't too heavy for someone like me (a mom and wife in her mid 30s!). And the vocals are smooth & well done.
I am very picky about the music I purchase, only adding 1-3 albums (or downloads) to my collection each year as that is all I can afford and I don't want to clutter my house with music that isn't a fabulous listen every time. Needtobreath grabbed my interest & made my top 2 or 3 for 2006.
If you are looking for something fresh for your music collection, I highly recommend this album, you wont be disappointed!
So Good!| Posted October 03, 2007
Needtobreathe has such a unique sound that stays with you. I loved this album from the first time I heard "Shine On". During a very difficult time with my health, "Over Now" became my anthem. It felt like that song was written for me. If you've never checked out needtobreathe, I highly recommend that you give them a listen. But, beware...you may become addicted to this cd! :-)
Better then the other| Posted March 24, 2008
Most only know Needtobreath for their single "Signature of Devine." Some don't even know that they have another album that was just as good or better then The Heat. Some of the best tracks are Quit, Don't Wait for Daylight, and You Are Here.
