Flowing out of a season of deep surrender, veteran worship leader and songwriter John Chisum delivers a surprisingly pop track. Prolific Nashville producer Sam Hart expertly fashions another solid track to undergird CHISUM's staccato falsetto vocals and a punchy chorus.
"Forgot this was a battle/Thought that I could handle/All of the hurt all by myself/All by myself, so low, alone," sings CHISUM, words co-written with NCS Collective songwriter Bonnie J. Barbey, pop/country writer Brant Colella, CHISUM, and Sam Hart.
"I'm experimenting a bit here," admits CHISUM. "'White Flag' is unlike anything I've ever done. I'm having a lot of fun just making music that is meaningful to me, even if it is outside the bounds of the softer worship I'm most known for. I believe it's never too late to be the artist you want to be, and I want to be an example of that in the songs I release."
