What You Need to Know
The pop princess that's catching everyone's attention in Christian music, Claire Leslie, is one of Capitol CMG's newest artists to sign and a fan favorite for a reason. Clarie released her first song in 2022 and spent a few years releasing music and collaborating with artists independently before her label debut "Original" in 2024. She released several singles before selecting four of her previously released songs and two new ones to comprise her debut EP, Twenty Something.

What It Sounds Like
Twenty Something is a breath of fresh air that had me smiling from ear to ear. It's a beautiful and upbeat pop project that sounds like everything from Forrest Frank to Sabrina Carpenter with a fun dose of originality that Claire brings to this packed EP. Each song has a unique sound, standing out with her catchy choruses and fun styles, perfectly fitting the EP for summer. Even songs like the title track, "Twenty Something," which slows the pace, are a beautiful, singer-songwriter pop ballad that is a highlight not to be missed.

Spiritual Highlights
Twenty Something is a project that touched me deeply. As a 22-year-old, I'm still learning to surrender to God and follow His perfect path in this crazy life. Clarie's EP brings those themes, along with tackling numerous struggles, to listeners in a way that is ideally suited for pop playlists and radio. Topics like finding love, freedom to be ourselves, trusting Jesus, and following His way are all sung about in a way that reminded me I'm not alone. It reminded me that God sees me right where I am, with all my questions and fears. In those moments, we can find joy and peace in the Father and His love. Twenty Something is a special project that conveys the truths of identity in a fun way, allowing listeners to connect powerfully.

Best Song
My favorite track on this pop-fueled EP is "Passenger Seat." The song is an anthem of letting go and surrendering to God's perfect plan. The song suits both as a radio hit and a hidden favorite. It's catchy, fun, and conveys the message of following God's guidance so well that this song has become one of my favorites since its release. Another notable mention is "Original," one of the best songs in Christian music that I've heard in a while. This song is so bubbly and a fun anthem for embracing ourselves with confidence, making it a must-listen.

For Fans Of
Forrest Frank, Britt Nicole, Jordan Feliz, Riley Clemmons, Sarah Reeves

Bottom Line
In a world where female pop artists dominate the charts in mainstream music but rarely release albums in Christian music, Twenty Something is your Christian alternative to mainstream artists like Sara Bareilles and Grace VanderWaal, with themes of trusting God amid growth. These songs are all anthems that people of all ages, especially the ladies of Gen Z, can find freedom in being themselves and finding confidence in His plans for every detail in their lives. Honestly, Clarie Leslie is one of my favorite artists, and this EP ranks among my top projects this year. It offers a sound that surpasses mainstream pop and provides the fresh perspective Christian music has been longing for. Alongside the explosion of artists like Forrest Frank, Claire Leslie is the next big thing that should be included in these conversations, hands down.
