The former mainstream rock artist delivers a soulful 10 song album, produced by Joshua Silverberg (Michael W. Smith, Audio Adrenaline) and Colby Wedgeworth (Lincoln Brewster, The Maine), with the Song Sessions produced by Jared Fox. Feliz brings a fresh, mainstream sound with Christian lyrics that is resonating with fans and radio everywhere.
Beloved features six new songs that were co-written by Feliz including the new single, "The River." We're goin down to the river/Down to the river/Down to the river to pray/Let's get washed by the water/Washed by the water/and rise up in amazing grace. The record also offers the up-tempo "Dancing Through The Fire" and "Rejoice," the mid-tempo anthem celebrating the power of God. There are also the beautiful ballads "Simple," "Satisfied," and the title track that was written for Feliz's new daughter, Jolie. The last four songs on the album, the Song Sessions, are acoustic versions of "Beloved" and "The River," along with covers of "Photograph" and "Brother."

Jordan Feliz is the newest signee to Centricity Music, but he's already making big waves in the industry. His first single "The River" is gaining steady support from Christian radio and forming a strong fan base for the artist even before the release of his first album. Formerly a heavy metal singer in Warped Tour style band A Current Affair, Jordan is far from a newcomer to the music business. Now with the release of Beloved, Jordan offers up a stunning CCM debut that promises good things from the California native.
Aforementioned lead single "The River" opens the album with an upbeat tempo and catchy melody sure to get stuck in your head for days. Also on the peppy side, "Simple" talks of the sheer simplicity of the Gospel truths.
Easily the standout song on the album, the title track comes to life with lyrics of bold declaration: "You are essential, not accidental / you are beloved / I wanted you to know / you are beloved / let it soak into your soul / forget the lies you've heard / rise above the hurt and listen to these words / you are beloved." Jordan wrote the song for his newborn daughter while thinking about what he most wanted to communicate to her, but the song resonates with all listeners, reminding us of who we are in Christ.
Taking it back up-tempo, "Dancing Through The Fire" testifies to God's faithfulness even in the hardest times, much like "Rejoice" praises Him for His power. The lone ballad included, "Satisfied," is another noteworthy moment on the album. "My heart, Your throne / this life belongs to You and You alone / let there be no divide / in only You may my soul be satisfied," the emotional song of surrender sings out.
The album closes with four recordings from The Song Sessions: acoustic versions of "Beloved" and "The River" alongside incredible covers of NEEDTOBREATHE's "Brother" and Ed Sheeran's "Photograph."
Closing Thoughts:
Jordan Feliz is well on his way to becoming a big name in Christian music. For a debut, Beloved is strikingly well produced and well written. Jordan has crafted a unique sound that's already being noticed by fans and grabs your attention at first listen. One of the most promising debuts this year, Beloved proves that good things are ahead from Jordan Feliz.
