I have enjoyed TBR for the most part, their lyrics are full of truth and from the heart, you can see that the lyrics have been thought through and come from personal experience. They aren't as edgy as I like but to each his own, they don't lose points from me for not sounding exactly like what I want them to.

This Beautiful Republic did a great job on this album. They're very talented guys with a great message. My favorite song is "Black Box".

Keep an eye on TBR! | Posted July 29, 2007
One thing is clear after listening to Even Heroes Need a Parachute- This Beautiful Republic has the talent and the testimony to become a household name in Christian music. They mix hard rocking guitar riffs, catchy melodies, and an unashamed message together to form a very complete debut album. TBR delivers driving rock on Going Under and Black Box, and prayerful peace on Jesus to the World and New Year. But where they shine brightest is in the middle, with Casting Off, Right Now, The Surface, and Lets Be Honest all featuring energy that will make you want to move your feet, and a challenging message that will make you want to move your heart. Even Heroes Need a Parachute isn't just great music- it's great ministry!

rollercoaster ride, without the throwing up | Posted July 26, 2007
This Beautiful Republic is a great new rock band that's fully underrated. Their album isn't thoroughly fantastic, from the first track to the last, but it does give the world something new to listen to. They somewhat break out of the generalized rock and into something more that makes a listener listen twice. Some songs on the record are stronger than others, with catchier riffs and feel. The opening track "Casting Off" is of those particular great songs and continues a streak with the dark "Going Under" and softer "Jesus to the World." It continues into "Right Now," which is pure feel-good rock music. Once onto the fifth track though, it feels a bit shaky and not so strong as the clutter of great songs in the top half of the tracks. It somewhat goes back to the catchy rock with "The Surface," but then loses it again with an attempt for a slow song on "Let's Be Honest." The last half of the album doesn't have the addicting tunes the opening tracks had. It closes with "Cloud Cover," which is an easy song to forget. It can be thrown in with the other thousand rock songs out there and be lost. For any listener willing to listen though, each song can find its way to become addicting. This album has its good and bad, but overall is quite a strong debut

Finally! A band who has reached...The Surface | Posted July 17, 2007
I love just about every song on this CD, minus maybe one song. Debuting, TBR has managed to put out an impressive album. I'm a bit surprised why not many people have discovered them yet...

Along with this CD, comes 3 bonus tracks which are also pretty good. If you are looking for a solid CD with an awesome rock, new-kick flavor, check out TBR and Even Heroes Need A Parachute. You won't be disappointed.
