I've never been all that into Project 86, but it's my job to stay informed about new releases so I stopped by the P86 myspace page to sample a couple tracks... Imagine my surprise when this giant arena-rock riff poured out of the speakers and knocked me on my ear! 'Evil (A Chorus of Resistance)' is the track... and I loved it. Figuring it a fluke, I skipped to the next track... EVEN BETTER! 'Put Your Lips to the TV' starts off with a smooth, jumpy, little piano intro... then another massive riff comes in right behind it. The chorus is the super catchy type that you find yourself yelling in the car. The album isn't all huge riffs though, there are also some new electronic sections fleshing out some of the later tracks. Sort of a throwback to Depeche Mode, but it works. Great record, great new sound, it's wonderful watching this band mature to a new level.
