Classic Christmas Tunes with Contemporary Twist. | Posted November-09-2008
These classic Christmas tunes are amazing by themselves. But when you add Rebecca St. James' contemporary pop/rock twist to the mix, it just gets better! My favorites from the album are the rock/ballad "O Come Emmanuel", the danceable "O Holy Night", the worshipful "O Come All Ye Faithful" and the intimate original track "A Cradle Prayer". I've owned this CD for 4 years now and it still gets me in that Christmas mood every time in spins in my CD player. Bravo Becca!

Sophomore Slump. | Posted November-08-2008
This album has some great tunes like "God So Loved", "Show You Love", "Child of Mine" and "Glory", but the rest of the songs are just ballads that don't have that umph that soaring ballads should have. This one doesn't quite compare to some of her other releases.

Good Collection. | Posted November-08-2008
This release is a nice collection of Joy's best songs. I really love "Any More Sure" and "Here With Us". I do wish though the CD had more songs, such as "Yes I Will", "Hungry" or "How Deep the Father's Love". Good collection though. Recommended!

A Peppy, Bright, Young Face... | Posted November-08-2008
Joy is a just a bright young face in Christian music and she brings a peppy quality to her music. I love the danceable tracks like "Serious", "No Less", and "Up" or the worshipful "Touch of Faith", "I Believe In You" and "Better Than I." Or how about the California-cool "It's All Good" and "Second Nature". All in all, they're great songs that match a great voice. Buy her new music too. Trust me it keeps gettin' better.

Okay Debut. Some Strong Points, But Mostly Just Fillers. | Posted November-08-2008
The album is really just OKay. Some of the songs are great, like the funky "Water", the soaring "If You Ever Fall" and the brilliant "Sometimes I Fall". But all the rest are just lost. If you like a big voice and more production, go for Rachael Lampa or Stacie Orrico. Oh yeah and I also liked "Don't Run Away", but that's about it. Like I said, Rachael Lampa. You won't find better than Rachael.

Starts Off Strong, But Gets So-So In the Middle... | Posted November-08-2008
The album starts off strong withe the first four tracks: the rocking "Way to Begin", the passionate "My Savior", the vibrant "Fire" and the encouraging "Fall to Pieces", but the middle of the album seems to be forgotten in my mind, save for the 7th track, "Anticonformity" which is by far the best song on the album! ROCKIN! But tracks 5, 6, 8 and 9 are just lost in between the other great hits. I also enjoyed the last songe "Can't Stay"... a crunchy rock track that's fun to blast. Overall, the album has some amazing strong points, but there are one too many fillers.

Really Nice. | Posted November-08-2008
This is by far my favorite Jaci album. I really enjoyed the playful "You're My God", the upbeat "Unspoken" and the vulnerable "Real Me". I also enjoyed "Lost Without You" and "Your Friend". Nice, Jaci, Nice!

The Album Doesn't Quite Hold Up After 10 Years... | Posted November-08-2008
Though the album doesn't quite hold up after over 10 years, some gems are still present such as "If This World", "On My Knees", "Baptize Me" and "We Can Make A Difference". A good debut.

Great Return. | Posted November-08-2008
After 3 years of absence, Joy's return to music is great.
1. Stay 5/5 Great song! The piano vamp is just stunning!
2. We 5/5 The message and the beat of this song go together perfectly. Bravo!
3. Say Goodbye 5/5 A superb ballad that includes Joy's vocals soaring over a beautiful piano medlody. Deliciously produced!
4. Hide 5/5 Great!!! This is definitely the best choice for her radio single!
5. Beautiful Redemption 5/5 Another amazing ballad!
6. Unafraid 5/5 A lot like "Hide". Just wonderful.
7. Silence 3/5 The only "so-so" song on the album.
8. I'm In Love With You 4/5 A very nice song that portrays the love Joy has for her husband.
9. God Only Knows 5/5 A fun and encouraging way to wind down the album!
10. Child of Eden 5/5 Stunning closer! Amazingly written!
Overall: 4 1/2 out of 5
AMAZING ALBUM! Great Vocal Prowess + Hot Musical Production = Genesis.

Great Devotions! | Posted November-04-2008
I really like this devotion book. It has lots of good Scripture and insight. Another cool thing is a lot of the devotions are based off of her songs. Great book Becca!
