I had the privilege of being a part of a group of singers while in high school known as the Breckinridge County High School Chamber Singers. This group, while changing members each year, has been under the direction of an awesome Christian lady by the name of Mrs. Kathy Tabor, for the past twenty years. It is not every day you find a strong Christian teacher in public school. Her life is a light, daily, for Christ. This past weekend we had a reunion concert with members from 1992 to present coming together to honor our friend and teacher Mrs. Tabor. We had the privilege of singing a song entitled “Love like This” by Jennie Lee Riddle, which also appears on her upcoming album “People & Songs Opus 1”. The song while not written about Mrs. Tabor was a perfect description of her life and relationship with her students. I can’t stop singing the song. My favorite part is the chorus which goes “I only want to be found faithful Lord make me able to represent you well, I want to lead the children to your table, the only place that they will find a love like this, there’s nothing better than love like this”. What a powerful prayer and request to our God, to only be found faithful. This song while an awesome tribute for our group to sing to Mrs. Tabor also had a greater meaning to me since a week ago my son asked Jesus to be his savior and found that love at Christ’s table for the first time. Mrs. Riddle thank you so much for the privilege to sing this song, it added a huge blessing to a wonderful day and will continue to bless many for years to come.
