Altira launches "Death of Fear" into orbit on June 2nd! I was privileged to be able to preview this debut EP, and let me tell you, I am so glad I did! After a hiatus from the CCM music scene, Dawn Michele (Lead vocalist, Fireflight) is back and as good as ever! She is now joined by Ash Blair on lead guitar, and Gina Osmar on drums. Make no mistake about it, although this is their first EP, their sound is polished, tight and mature! They definitely bring the heat back to Female Christian Rock, and their harmonies are on point.
Think classic Fireflight now with 2 female backup singers...
I am glad that Dawn Michele is back, and that her vocals are as strong and wide ranging as ever...It is clear that she has not missed a beat!
Now mix in Ash and Gina, and you have a powerhouse trio that is sure to crank out some hits!
While I like all 4 songs on the EP "Death of Fear, Paper Doll, Black Hole, and Hear I am", my personal favorite is Death of Fear! It is a perfect 1-2 punch of Dawn's powerful vocals combined with hard rock instrumentals! I love the drumline, the guitar riffs, and the defiant harmonies..
Their sound is hard, fast, and harmonized. I expect it won't take long for their fandom to grow, and you can count me amongst their fans!
