“I’m just trying to be the person I needed when I was younger”
Luke Gibson (LGM) was born in California but moved around before settling in Arkansas at the age of 9. His love of music flourished there when he discovered drums and quickly moved onto other instruments. While this discovery of music occurred, the exploration of self worth and what LGM used to find meaning and consistency ravaged his life until his early 20’s.
“I’ve put value in what I did for work, what I went to school for, how I felt I deserved to be successful because I worked hard… and when I wasn’t I would feel worthless when I shouldn’t have. I’m proud to say I’m out of that head space by grace alone but I have room to improve.”
LGM’s musical influences include artists like Post Malone and Andy Mineo. Lyrically, he pulls from Twenty One Pilots, Social Club Misfits, and NF. All these artist inspired LGM’s rhythm heavy beats that includes a melodious mix of pop and rap and intense emotions woven into every line. This helps to describe LGM’s expression of the rawness of life, and the reality that we are not defined by our success or lack thereof.
“You gotta recognize everyone has trials even when they may seem “better off” or “fine”.”
YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
