The New Sound Is Family (AKA The Howell’s) is Michael, Sherrie, Sarah, and John Michael Howell — a family with a vision for every man, woman, boy and girl to awaken to their true identity as sons and daughters of Father God. They write/record music together and travel the world, leading worship and teaching at multi-generational gatherings and conferences. The purpose of their songs and ministry is to call forth the greatness in every person and see them find their place of belonging in the royal family of God.

Michael & Sherrie were both raised in pastors’ homes and met while serving on staff at Kenneth Copeland Ministries. After 10 years of serving KCM, In 2003, Michael and Sherrie began touring full-time with Go Deep (the worship band they founded in 1999). They made the decision to do whatever it took to have their children with them as much as possible.  It was not necessarily easy to have toddlers on the road for 200+ dates a year, but they will tell you it was the most rewarding decision they ever made. In their own words - "We discipled our kids FIRST...they were the priority. We knew ministry could only be as successful as our family". Sarah (20) and John Michael (19)  both serve in the worship department of their church (Gateway Church) and travel with their parents leading worship all over the world. They are both songwriters with songs on nationally distributed releases.

When the Howell's show up at a conference or church, people see a real-life picture of what building marriage, family, and ministry on the sure foundation of God's Word can look like. They will be the first to tell you they haven't done it ALL PERFECTLY in their near 25 years of marriage but they can say with surety, EVERY couple and family has a 100% chance of success when a lifestyle of leaning into Grace and making God's Word final authority is developed. In services and conferences with TNSIF, the Word and worship work together in a prophetic/spirit-led flow that brings comfort, healing, and an overwhelming sense of God's love and grace.

Michael & Sherrie are loving this Season of traveling with their children, teaching, leading worship, and sharing the true story of God's faithfulness in their lives. They love encouraging young couples just starting out as well as those who may have been through some tough times and need to be reminded that God is THE redeemer and restorer. There is no situation too far gone for his grace to invade and bring life back into any relationship whether it be between husband and wife or parent and child...God can and WANTS to fix it!

Michael and Sherrie own and operate Legendary Sound Studios, Integrity Artist Agency and Go Deep International Ministries. They have guest appeared on various Christian TV programs. In addition, Michael also travels with Kenneth Copeland as a worship leader at conferences around the world. Michael is also a producer and engineer with hundreds of recording credits, and is an RIAA gold record recipient.
