Tappahannock, Virginia’s Christian hip hop artist “Jerrell Golden” is one to look out for. Having opened for artists such as TobyMac, Hollyn, and his hometown’s own Chris Brown, Jerrell has created quite a name for himself.
At the 2018 Rhythm of Gospel Awards, he brought home the “Holy Hip Hop Artist of The Year Award” and the “Holy Hip Hop Song of The Year Award” for his single “Bring Your Own Bible (B.Y.O.B)”. In that same year at the Gospel Image Awards he took home the “Best Male Gospel Hip Hop Award”.
In January of 2019, Jerrell performed in the first-ever CHH & GHH Cruise to the Bahamas where he ministered in Nassau, Bahamas on the beach, as well as on the ship. With influences such as Jay-Z, Cassidy, Jered Sanders, TuPac Shakur, Eminem, Bizzle, LeCrae, KB, and Common, Jerrell Golden’s music is a collage of energetic lyricism that’s engaging to the soul.
