Orphan No More is a creative community, learning to live and make as if everything we hoped to be true is; we belong and we are loved as we are not as we should be.
We believe everybody has a message, everybody has a song and story to tell. Through the medium of music, poetry and storytelling at our core we believe in the power art has to heal, transform and restore. What stands at the origin of our community is this purpose; to promote hope, promote creativity and promote redemptive art.
We believe that the story isn’t over and that hope will always have the last word. This is the narrative that lies beneath the songs we write, the stories we tell and more importantly, the way we live. We believe heart before art; that we can change the world outside as we heal the world within. We encourage each other to stay present in our unraveling and stay in the room even in the midst of pain, we are more concerned with who we are becoming than what we can produce.
We are developing artists, encouraging their gifting, realising their dreams and seeing them become who they were born to be. We cultivate a culture of empowerment and believe that in this context we can all work together to share our stories with excellence, honesty and hope. Through the progression of our different outputs we desire to create space for writers, singers, and poets to develop their craft and dream of the impact their story can have of the world.
Our highly anticipated debut album coming out later this year beautifully weaves together a narrative that us as individuals and a community have walked together -sharing a story with words we have pained for in grief, in tears and in pain. Even Now we will believe that our story isn’t over. We believe in a God that stands with us in the storm, outside the grave and in the middle of the desolate place.
