Cliffside is a Canadian metalcore band with djent influences. Their music is created to reach people and inspire self-worth and hope in others. They aspire to write music that's vulnerable, real, and open minded based on their own person victories and struggles. In early 2019, Cliffside released their debut EP, "Wilderness" and have recieved very positive attention.
Throughout late 2017 and early 2018 Joel Issler and Taylor Thomas wrote five songs that became "Wilderness." During the period, "Cliffside" brought on Matt Groening and Ty Wigemyr to join the project. Throughout the proceeding summer, JordanChase (Stutterfly, Secret & Whisper, Shreddy Krueger) produced, engineered, mixed and mastered "Wilderness" in Kelowna, BC, Canada.
Taylor and Joel wrote "Wilderness" as a testimony to the difficult circumstances which they overcame throughout 2016-2018. The album speaks to any sort of difficult season one may find themselves in. While the content matter of each song varies, an overarching theme of pain turned into hope pervades the course of the album. Our desire is that our story will encourage and lift any weight caused from any hurt. Further, we aspire to share our conviction that pain does not need to define us.
Concerning "Wilderness", Taylor and Joel share, "...We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of support regarding our debut Ep. We look forward to releasing more music and we love building relationships with absolutely anyone and everyone. We feel blessed our music has been able to impact so many people around the world already."
