San Salvador was formed from some of the former members of Sounds Like Chicken in its final stages. Paul McCasker was added on trumpet to complete the lineup.
Sounds Like Chicken were the first to give word on the formation of San Salvador. Nat Kitingan was interviewed on 100.9BFMs Undaground Radio about the new band and asked what the name would be. Reluctantly Nat said it was not final but San Salvador was one of the names that was being considered.
Approx 1 month later San Salvador was officially announced as the name of the band on the Sounds Like Chicken myspace page:
"San Salvador
