San Salvador was formed from some of the former members of Sounds Like Chicken in its final stages. Paul McCasker was added on trumpet to complete the lineup.
Sounds Like Chicken were the first to give word on the formation of San Salvador. Nat Kitingan was interviewed on 100.9BFMs Undaground Radio about the new band and asked what the name would be. Reluctantly Nat said it was not final but San Salvador was one of the names that was being considered.
Approx 1 month later San Salvador was officially announced as the name of the band on the Sounds Like Chicken myspace page:
Dave, Nat, Mike, Ben and Joel are proud to announce the beginning of their new project, San Salvador. Check out their myspace at www.myspace.com/sansalvadormusic. San Salvador make their debut at AGMF this easter in Queensland (they're listed in the program as Sounds Like Chicken). Tracks will be posted on their myspace really soon, so check back regularly!
We hope you've enjoyed our music as much as we've enjoyed playing it. We thank you for all your support over the years.
From SLC for the last time, over and out!!!!"
