D. R33D comes from a background of cultural Christianity, public facade, and private trauma. He grew up in and around church culture (Southern Baptist influences) and learned the church language. In learning the church language and knowing the right answers, D. R33D was able to put up a front of being a Jesus follower.
From trials ranging from domestic violence, depression, suicide, and sexual addiction, D. R33D was far from having a relationship with God restored through Jesus. It wasn’t until his second year in college when he was challenged to read 3-4 chapters of scripture a day that things started to change. In his arrogance, he took on the challenge and the Holy Spirit softened his heart. D. R33D saw the lie he was living and saw his need for Jesus through regularly reading John and Acts. Lots of change took place afterwards.
D. R33D was born in 1999 and this (barely) 90’s baby has a mission. D. R33D wants to use music for God’s glory and your good. D. R33D wants to use music to love God and love you. D. R33D wants to point you to Jesus while connecting with you in your mess. It is okay to not be okay, but it’s not okay to stay there.
